Multifunctional agriculture in Czechia after accesion to the European Union: conceptualisation, development and regional differentiation

The dissertation deals with the concepts of multifunctional agriculture in the context of transformations of Czech agriculture in the post-communist era. In general, the study mainly wanted to discuss the concepts of multifunctional agriculture, known for over three decades, especially from the Anglo-Saxon environment, and to analyse the development of Czech agriculture as well as application of multifunctional agriculture especially in the period after Czechia's joining the European Union, including the perception of multifunctional activities by farmers. The initial part of the study discusses the concepts of multifunctional agriculture as non-commodity production (OECD 2001) and an integral part of rural development (Van der Ploeg, Roep 2003) on the one hand and of agricultural multifunctionality (Wilson 2007), on the other. The empirical part of the work was based on a quantitative assessment of regional differentiation of multifunctional agriculture in Czechia, the territorial concentration of multifunctional activities and dependence between the variables that influence its implementation. This diploma thesis, Evaluation of the accession of local action groups in the Czech Republic for settings strategies in 2014-2020, deals with evaluation strategies for selected local action groups. This evaluation is based on study strategies of community-led local development. The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out homogenity in the approaches of local action groups and this results compare with support in grant programs in 2014-2020 and with characteristics of this area.

Proposed diploma thesis deals with regional development at its lowest level, represented by local development. The work describes its development and puts it in the context of the Rural Development Policy within the European Union and the Czech Republic itself. Furthermore, the concept of Community-led local development based on the LEADER principle, which is the basis for the functioning of the Local Action Groups in the 2014-2020 programming period is also clarified. The application part focuses on the importance of these partnerships and their activities in the territory of the Czech Republic. The core section represents the comparison of the 2 LAGs of the South Moravian Region and their support for the strategic plan in the previous programming period 2007-2013, which is demonstrated in the complete conclusion of the work.

Proměna podporovaných tematických oblastí místních akčních skupin Zlínského kraje

This particular Bachelor thesis is dealing with the comparison of supporting areas of local action groups (LAGs) of Zlín district. In the first part we will find the litera-ture review which explains the basic terms, such as rural development, and the coaction of actors of rural area. The monitored area is characterized in the relati-on to local action groups. The valorization of MAS activities is based on the analy-sis of supported projects within preferred bisector IV Program of rural develop-ment 2007 to 2013. In the program's season 2007 to 2013 were made 855 projects. From which MAS of Zlín district were mostly focusing on the area of civil facilities, services but least on the area of environment. Based on the detected strategic goals of program's season 2014 to 2020 came to comparison of these two seasons in the matter of thematic areas, which resulted in opposite results.

Komparační studie využití metody Leader mezi členskými státy Evropské unie

This bachelor´s thesis deals with the application of the LEADER method and compares its particular indicators in different countries of the European Union. The thesis consists of three sections. The first part explains the basic terminology regarding of the issue. It also includes further details of the analyzed environment and the tools needed for the implementation of the LEADER method into the policies of the Member States of the European Union. The second section focuses on the comparison of selected indicators in observed countries in 2007-2013. The selected indicators are the number of local action groups in each country, their area, the number of people living in the territory covered by the local action groups and the absorption capacity of the projects financed by the local action groups. Furthermore, the thesis compares the financial resources to support the LEADER directed to specific areas, namely competitiveness, environment and land management and the quality of life. In the final part are evaluated the results of executed comparisons.

Přístupy místních akčních skupin v České republice k rozvoji venkovského turismu

The diploma thesis deals with the evaluation of the rural tourism development through LEADER methods, especially by the local action groups. The rate of support was analyzed in the territory of 18 selected local action groups according to their tourist attendance. The theoretical part includes literary research, which explains the relevant concepts of rural development and development of the area through tourism, namely rural tourism, the possibilities of supporting the development of rural and rural tourism through subsidy programs, especially the Rural Development Program, Functioning of LEADER methods and local action groups, which are the crucial topic of the presented work. The following chapter introduces selected local action groups based on their tourist attractiveness and the inclusion of tourism support in the strategic plan of the each LAG. The major eighth chapter discusses in the detail projects supported by the LAG, which are further classified according to their nature and sorted according to whether they have the ideologies of rural tourism or not. The aim of the thesis is to find out which categories of LAG, according to the tourist ballast, most strongly implement projects supporting the development of rural tourism in the region. The final chapter deals with the evaluation of the support of implemented projects supporting the rural tourism in the current programming period 2014-2020.

Královehradecký a Pardubický kraj z pohledu podpory turismu v rámci PRV

This bachelor thesis focuses on the evaluation of support of rural tourism from the Rural Development Programme in the Hradec Králové region and Pardubice region. The theoretical part of the thesis includes literary research and explains basic terminology on the fields of tourism industry and rural tourism industry. The next chapter gives an insight into the specifics of the analysed areas from the viewpoint of its potential for the development of the tourism industry, determined by the area´s local and implementational preconditions. The work includes an overview of the financial support for this type of tourism from European funds. The applied part of the bachelor thesis consists of the main analysis of all EU-supported projects from the priority axis III., field of support 1.3 Encouragement of tourism activities. The individual projects are sorted by the type of beneficiary, the project´s focus and therefore it was necessary to define the standards for the determination of relevant projects, which follow the ideas of the rural tourism. Total amount of registered applications for grants in the period 2007 up 2013 was 59, but only 39 projects were relevant and approved. The established criteria of rural tourism have been fulfilled by only 25 projects. 19 projects fulfilled these criteria only partially.

This thesis deals with the development of rural municipality with an emphasis on the importance of the active participation of various groups of actors. It is aimed at the views of key groups of actors in the development of the municipality of Šaratice, which are for example representatives of local government, local businessmen, representatives of associations in the municipality and its citizens. Based on the analysis of obtained information provides suggestions of possible measures and recommendations that are useful for the future development of the municipality.

Agrocentrum Ohrada a jeho vliv na rozvoj venkova v zázemí Letovic

The goal of this thesis is to investigate the influence of Agrocentrum Ohrada on rural development in the micro region Letovicko. The theoretical part of the thesis characterizes agribusiness as a chain of activities leading from primary production to final consumer. Simultaneously it describes agrotourism as a part of rural tourism that should be a part of a chain of agribusiness. The practical part of the thesis characterizes the hobby area of Letovicko and Agrocentrum Ohrada, in terms of conditions for development of agribusiness, agrotourism and possible economic support, through SWOT analysis. In conclusion of the thesis I evaluate the importance of the company for development of micro region and agribusiness.

This diploma thesis is focused on granting system of agricultural subsidies. Studied are the Grant applications of Rural Development Programme 2014 – 2020. The examined period is 1. – 5. round of application acceptance on cohesion region Central Moravia. Main goal of this work is to identify critical spots and propose possible changes in granting system of agricultural subsidies. In the first part, the overview of reference literature introduces the issues of regional policy, EU funds and related fields. In the second part, the structure of the State Agricultural Intervention Fund is described based on documents of project measures. Next, the analysis of the Grant applications is performed where the practical examples are presented. Based on these examples the recommendations and improvements are suggested.
