The aim of this bachelor thesis is to give an insight into the current situation in the market of web browsers. The thesis describes their history and development and also offers a glimpse into the future. For testing are selected browsers that currently occupy a decisive market share. Testing takes place in areas such as compliance with web standards, speed, security, user interface and the customization. Each browser is tested for functionality of faculty information systems. The thesis deals with the versions of browsers for mobile devices and also the problems with add-ons. An important part of the thesis is a statistical survey about usage of web browsers by faculty students.

This bachelor thesis describes the history of the Internet and the development of web browsers. The current situation in the web browser market is presented, along with the description of individual web browsers. It includes explanations of some of the important terms, as well as the view of the situation concerning the usage of mobile devices in relation to web browsers. The thesis also shows a comparison of web browsers and an evaluation of a questionnaire.
Content and structure of web documents and options of their efficient indexing and searching

Bachelor work focuses on internet browsers. It deals with their historical evolution, examines their technologies, compares nad tests them. It also focuses on different rendering modes of web sites. Further it describes procedures of writing web sites, so that that the output is very similar in all major web browsers and the also standards-compliant. The goal is to show some inadequacies of modern web browsers, which offer multiple modes of rendering websites in order to maintain back compatibilty with older web sites. This text shows, how to recognise rendering modes and also how to overcome their differences. Procedures are shown on examples and also on example web presentation. This paper also tests JavaScript speed in different browsers. Several JavaScript tests were written for this purpose. Also several reasons for correct writing of HTML and CSS marks are mentioned.
Usableness of web browsers

This work examines utility, efficiency, and convenience offered by present web browsers. The first part defines the function and history of a web browser. The next chapter covers important browser features along with their description. Five commonly used browsers are analyzed afterwards, having their attributes and user interface depicted. Performance tests were aimed to measure the browsers' speed. Their methodology and annotated output are included in a dedicated chapter. User approach follows, focusing on successfulness in browser navigation and internet activities which have been tested on three individuals. The work concludes with acquired findings and an outline of anticipated trends.
