Alignment of DNA Parts
Pejř, Václav ; Burgetová, Ivana (referee) ; Rozman, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with finding the possibilities within the sphere of alignment of DNA sequences. Based on these findings, the best solution should be found with regard to the quickness of computation and quality of alignment. Following this I intend to implement and thus create a functioning program that will do the alignment. The thesis starts with introducing issues dealing with biology, DNA and genetics. The introduction is followed by a survey of algorithms that are used for alignment, their evaluation and selection of the most appropriate algorithm for the implementation. The thesis also focuses on the usage of parallel programming by means of OpenCL libraries. The alignment is being done above many sequences at the same time, so that the methods how this process can be done and how to reach the best results are being examined.
Effect of adenosine on Salvador/Warts/Hippo signaling pathway in \kur{Drosophila melanogaster}
FILIP, Tomáš
Adenosine is a ubiquitous metabolite that has various functions in organisms. We examined in this thesis possible interactions between adenosine and Salvador/Warts/Hippo signaling pathways. The results suggest that Adenosin may influences the expression of four important Salvador/Warts/Hippo signaling pathway genes. Our results also suggest strong effect of nutritional diet composition on the expression of these genes.
Effect of Extracellular Adenosine on \kur{Drosophila melanogaster} Cells
HOLÁ, Hana
The effects of extracellular adenosine on Drosophila melanogaster cell lines Cl.8+, Mbn-2, S2 were examined. The cells were grown in the complete medium and tested for growth rate with in presence or absence of adenosine, dipyridamole, uridine and deoxycoformycin. The S2 cells were tested for cAMP production in presence or absence of adenosine.
The characterization of adenosine signal pathway in \kur{Drosophila} imaginal disc cells
TICHÝ, Vlastimil
The aim of this work was to characterise the influence of adenosine on imaginal disc cell line Cl8+ of Drosophila. I prepared stable cell lines with the overexpression or RNA interference of genes coding adenosine receptor AdoR (CG9753) and adenosine transporter DmENT2 (CG11045) in D. melanogaster. These cell lines were subsequently used to test their response to extracellular adenosine signal by the measurement of cell viability and level of second messengers cAMP and Ca2+ in Cl8+ cells.
