Analysis of erosion and runoff conditions in the village of Nelepeč as a basis for a study of runoff conditions in the water landscape management
Kasalová, Klára ; Kulihová, Martina (referee) ; Sobotková, Veronika (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the analysis of erosion and runoff conditions in the cadastral area of Nelepeč in the South Moravian Region. ArcGIS, USLE 2D and DesQ-MaxQ are used for the analysis. After the determination of the current erosion and runoff conditions, a proposal for erosion control measures for the entire cadastral area comprehensively and further for the determined problem area follows. The proposed measures should ensure a reduction in the average erosion shear on agricultural land and protection of the village's intramural area. The thesis concludes with an evaluation of erosion and runoff conditions after the design of protective measures, which are then compared with the situation before the design.
Generating Procedural Planets in Unity
Kostolányi, Adam ; Milet, Tomáš (referee) ; Starka, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the implementation of an easily extensible plugin in the Unity game engine. It is an extension of an existing work, the goal of which was to build and implement a library for creating procedural planet surface generators. It emphasizes simplicity and allows the user to create their own generators in the form of modifiers. The extension was aimed at creating additional modifiers. The first implemented modifier provides the conversion of surface data into an elevation map format and allows the user to save it to their device. The second implemented modifier is a water erosion simulation. The erosion simulation takes the form of a rainfall event that uses a simple physics model to calculate the acceleration of the drop. An approach inspired by other work dealing with erosion has been proposed in this thesis to calculate the direction of the drop. The erosion simulation results in buried gullies and valleys, and the resulting elevation maps clearly show the channels where the water flowed. The plugin was implemented together with a visualization in the form of a 3D planet with clearly visible elevation differences.
Posouzení změn erozního ohrožení pozemků v delším časovém horizontu
PICKA, Patrik
The diploma thesis on Comparison of erosion threat to land over a longer period of time aimed to assess and evaluate erosion in a defined time period, namely from 1938 to the current state. The area under consideration was the cadastral area of Kostelec located in the district of České Budějovice near Hluboká nad Vltavou. The work was divided into several parts. The first part was a literature review, in which we deal with the history of the social organization in the Czech Republic du-ring the period under study, we also deal with the issue of erosion and protection against it and last but not least with the land-use regulations. In the second part of the qualifying work we describe the site of interest and deal with the calculation of erosion shear in six periods, namely 1938, 1952, 1964, 1968, 1995 and the present. Soil loss was calculated using the USLE equation of Wischmeier and Smith (1978) and two see-ding practices were used. The first seeding practice was used for the earlier period namely 1938-196 and the second for 1995 and present. The results of the soil loss calculations were summarized and compared and then evaluated. The results showed that land consolidation and appropriate seeding techniques have the effect of reducing soil erosion shear and these practices should be considered. With this knowledge, erosion can be brought under control and to acceptable levels.
Carbon dynamics in the chernozem region after half a century of intensive cultivation
Juřicová, Anna ; Chuman, Tomáš (advisor) ; Dostál, Tomáš (referee) ; Maerker, Michael (referee)
Soils are vital for global food security and recently they have also received attention as a tool potentially mitigating climate change due to their ability to store large amounts of carbon (C) and provide other vital non-productive functions. However, several forms of degradation threat these functions. In agricultural soils, the decline of soil organic carbon (SOC) and soil erosion are two of the degradation processes. Soil erosion laterally redistributes large amounts of SOC in hilly agricultural landscapes. Lateral fluxes further impact the SOC storage in soils and indirectly modulate the vertical C fluxes between the terrestrial sphere and the atmosphere. The aim of this thesis is to investigate the long-term (> 50 years) regional SOC changes and analyze the impacts of soil redistribution in C dynamics in a hilly agricultural landscape. We consider soil redistribution via water and tillage as the main erosion agents. The study uses a comparison of recently resampled and legacy data from historical monitoring (the 1960s) together with coupled erosion and C dynamics modelling using the SPEROC-C model. The study is conducted in the chernozem region, south Moravia, the Czech Republic. Our results showed that the change in SOC content tends to be positive after more than 50 years. Moreover,...
Water areas localization in landscape as adaptation measures to eliminate climatic extremes
Mokrejš, Filip ; Moravcová,, Aneta (referee) ; Sobotková, Veronika (advisor)
The subject of the diploma thesis is the analysis of the cadastral area of the municipality of Čejkovice concerning erosion and runoff conditions. ArcMap and USLE2D programs were used to evaluate erosion conditions. The determination of runoff characteristics was preceded by the identification of critical profiles, for which the calculation was subsequently performed in the DesQ-MaxQ program. Based on the evaluation, suitable erosion control measures were proposed, and the post-design condition was evaluated. Finally, the work focuses on small water bodies. Using the available literature, recommendation criteria for the selection of locations for small water bodies were established and a selection of suitable sites in the area of interest was made. The selected sites were developed into details of documentation for planning permission.
Design of erosion and flood control measures for study of runoff and erosion conditions
Svoboda, Jiří ; Larišová,, Lucie (referee) ; Sobotková, Veronika (advisor)
This master’s thesis is in introduction focused on the detailed characteristics and analysis in the cadastral area of Sivice. Erosion conditions are determined with using programs ArcGIS and USLE2D. Runoff conditions are evaluated by the method CN curve with using programs the ArcGIS and DesQ–MaxQ. After the analysis follows a design of erosion and flood control measures, the purpose of which is protection of the intravillan village of Sivice from torrential floods and protection agricultural land from water erosion. After the drawing design, biotechnical and technical measures are dimensioned for the design flow rates specified in the model DesQ–MaxQ. A detailed description belongs to all the protective measures. In conclusion of the thesis is evaluated the efficiency of the design protective measures and the average soil loss and runoff quantities are compared before and after the design of the protective measures.
Porovnání nejnovějších metod pro výpočty vodní eroze
VALENTA, David
The content of this bachelor thesis is an explanation that focuses on erosion, especially water erosion. The introductory part explains water erosion, its origin, the consequence of water erosion and possible anti-erosion measures, which can suppress this type of erosion or at least reduce its impact. The main purpose of this bachelor thesis is to compare the available procedures for calculating water erosion. In this work, the methods of average annual land removal and other selected models are presented, which serve as a basis for calculating the immediate land removal. The primary methods for calculating the average annual soil distribution include the USLE and RUSLE methods. In this work, only the most available models were selected to assess the calculation of the instantaneous soil removal.
Uplatnění meziplodin jako stabilizujícího prvku v protierozní ochraně
PICKA, Patrik
The bachelor's thesis on the topic of the application of intermediate crops as a stabi-lizing element in anti-erosion protection aimed to assess the usability of intermediate crops in sowing procedures in agriculture. Other examined variables included the evaluation of the effect on the increase of water retention in the landscape and the anti-erosion efficiency of the vegetation cover. A locality located in the Tábor dis-trict, in the cadastral area of Želeč u Tábora, was selected for the research plan. The work was divided into several parts for clarity. The first, theoretical part of the work deals with the issue of erosion, its distribution, the principles of protection against water erosion and, last but not least, also deals with intermediate crops, which can be used as a stabilizing element in erosion protection. The second part of the work introduces the selected locality and is supplemented by calculations of land-slide in this area. Soil loss was calculated using the Wichmeier - Smith (1978) equa-tion for the sowing procedure without intercrop and with the intercrop. The results of the sowing procedure with intermediate crops were compared and subsequently evaluated. The results of the work showed that the use of catch crops is very favorable for the soil and should be commonly included in sowing pro-cedures. This is due to their ability to improve the soil and extend the duration of the vegetation cover.
