The design of swirl turbine for the concrete locality for ČEZ
Šebela, Radek ; Dobšáková, Lenka (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of water turbine enabling optimal utilization of hydro-energetic potential of given location (barrage on Úpa river) chosen by ČEZ a.s. company. Moreover, the option of multi-unit layout is discussed. Because of the low-head profile of given location, the technology of swirl turbine in siphon configuration was chosen. Technology of swirl turbine presents new modification of Kaplan turbine with no need of guide vane. Swirl turbine is characterized by its high discharge and high speed. The main part of this thesis is focused on hydraulic design of the turbine.
The affect of the blade length on the swirl turbine characteristic
Pavlíček, Jan ; Hudec, Martin (referee) ; Habán, Vladimír (advisor)
This thesis deals with the evaluation of swirl turbine measurement, which the length of the turbine blades was gradually reduced. The subject of the effect was influence of the length of the blades, especially the measured efficiency of the turbine, and the character assessment of the flow at the inlet and outlet of the impeller. The measured data were analysed using the computing workbook with macro support, which can be used to evaluate other measurements of similar character. The different behaviour of the turbine depending on the length of the blades of the impeller was shown in the characteristics of the turbine and velocity triangles. For the variant with the best efficiency achieved was constructed QH diagram used in the design of turbine parameters for a particular location.
Installations in the draft tube of the swirl turbine
Kilian, Ondřej ; Rudolf, Pavel (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with design and exploration of installation in the draft tube of the swirl turbine. Use of the draft tube is defined in the first part, with illustration of energetical gain and efficiency of draft tube. Further the suitable shape of draft tube is studied by CFD computing. Design, research and evaluation of installation in the draft tube are solved in the main part.
Application of bionics for hydraulic turbine blade design
Kaprinay, Zoltán ; Moravec, Prokop (referee) ; Rudolf, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with application of bionics for girl turbine blade design. In the first part the basic theoretical concepts of bionics are explained, and there are different inventions described which are inspired by nature from both past and present. The description of the principle and fiction of girl turbine is followed by designing the blade. Calculations are based on real data for the girl turbine. In the end of the work there is the 3D model of designed blade.
Hydraulic solution of the swirl turbine for locality of Rosenauer mill
Pavlíček, Tomáš ; Veselý, Jindřich (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the design of a swirl turbine for the site of Rosenauer Mill, where the gross hydraulic head HB is 1 m and the flow rate is Q is 1.6 m3/s. The beginning of the work is dedicated to microturbines and explains why a swirl turbine is suitable for this location. The procedure applied for developing the hydraulically active surfaces of the turbine is then presented. Firstly the design of the blades is based on analytical formulas, which are further refined using the CFX Ansys program. The turbine is closely affected by the inlet and draft tube, therefore their design is also included in this thesis. The hydraulic calculations yield the resulting parameters and characteristics of the designed turbine, calculated from the entire assembly using CFD computations. The final section of the work is devoted to the design of main structural components such as the gear, shaft, and bearings. The hydraulic design developed in this thesis serves as the basis for implementing the swirl turbine and constructing a small hydraulic power plant at the Rosenauer Mill.
Hydraulic properties of siphon and direct flow swirl turbine
Hudec, Martin ; Šulc, Jan (referee) ; Veselý, Jindřich (referee) ; Habán, Vladimír (advisor)
Non-stationary processes are associated with the operation of water machines. They are important for their reliable and safe operation. Prediction and modeling of such states using a 1D mathematical model verified on a model in the laboratory is an advantage. The work is focused on the description of a pair of transient states that are related to siphon turbines and their operation. Determination of critical flow values for inducing a suction effect and, conversely, calculation of the minimum size of the flow coefficient for safe stopping. The experiments were performed on a laboratory model and compared with operational data from a small hydroelectric power plant Želina.
Influence of adjustable installations in the turbine draft tube on the characteristics and pressure pulsations
Šuráň, David ; Stareček, Jakub (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the draft tube and its optimization for various operating conditions. The research investigates the theoretical description and function of the draft tube and explains known methods of suppressing pressure pulsation so far. In the computational part, the author proposes a new method and designs optimal geometry of adjustable installations (ribs) for the draft tube. Finally, the comparison with the default geometry without ribs is performed.
History of the use of water power in Lobodice by Kojetín
Koutný, Vojtěch ; Haluza, Miloslav (referee) ; Hudec, Martin (advisor)
Energy is the driving force of the economies of countries around the world, without its use it would not be possible to achieve such great progress in science and living standards. However, in order for energy to be used, it must be created. This bachelor thesis will focus on the production of energy from a renewable source, which is a river. Specifically, the function and use of artificial water flow Bolelouc and MVE Lobodice.
Reversible swirl turbine
Palička, Miroslav ; Klas, Roman (referee) ; Haluza, Miloslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis describes hydraulic design of Swirl turbine, dedicated to be used for tidal powerplant and study possibilities of the turbine to work in turbine, reverse turbine, pump and reverse pump regime. From individual regimes, graphical characteristics of created hydraulic design were created and compared, using CFD simulations.
Modal analysis of the swirl turbine runner
Valo, Lukáš ; Fic, Miloslav (referee) ; Čupr, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis deals with modal analysis of the swirl turbine runner. The main aim was to determine natural frequencies and mode shapes of the turbine runner. Both detailed and simplified models of geometry of the turbine runner were analysed for two types of boundary conditions. The ANSYS program was used to carry out numerical simulations. Experimental measurement was realised to verify and to compare results of calculations.
