Manufacturing possibilities of sparking plug body
Strnad, Miroslav ; Kopřiva, Miloslav (referee) ; Podaný, Kamil (advisor)
Difficulties of manufacturing sparking plug body are analyzed in this thesis, which aims to select the most appropriate option. Body is circular section of steel 1.1191 (12 050), with a hole in the middle and upper part of this body is ended with hexagonal shape. The series is estimated at 1 000 000 units per year. For the production of sparking plug body are selected options from the machining and forming technologies. Specifically, turning and milling, casting, forging, a method using superplastic material and cold extrusion. Selected technologies will be reviewed based on cost to produce one piece, time requirements of manufacture of the unit, material usability and overall feasibility. According to these parameters forming is chosen as the best option.
Dropping Production in the Company
Eibelová, Lucie ; Šiška, Přemysl (referee) ; Juřica, Pavel (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the reduction of administrative and error rate in manual removal of the production in the foundry. The analysis maps the current state of the processes in the operation and shows how it works. This thesis presents a proposal to solve the problem by introducing the MES system, which is installed in the foundry.
Castings from TiAl alloys for the IC engines
Kašpar, Jan ; Záděra, Antonín (referee) ; Zemčík, Ladislav (advisor)
The bachelor tesis is focused on intermetalic alloys of TiAl. Analysis of microstructure including heat threatment and alloying. Next part is focused on melting and casting TiAl including safety of work and recyklation. Last chapter is developed to apllication mainly engine valves.
Manufacturing of castings of a frame of Praga 500 BD motocycle
Vraspír, Kamil ; Haluza, Jakub (referee) ; Roučka, Jaromír (advisor)
The bachelor degree thesis deals with the complete production technology of replica castings of motorcycle frame Praga 500 BD. In the first part of paper is described the historical development of fabric Praga – BD and technical parameters of motorcycle. In the second part is exactly described the production process of model device, comparison of material variants for model producing, forming and preparing metal including casting. Finally the heat treatment and machining castings are described there. The result of work is fabrication of working replica castings of motorcycle frame.
Verification of the original technologies used for art castings
Hřebíček, Lukáš ; Mrázek, Martin (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
This diploma thesis is describing making of the same art casting by using different foundry technologies/ moulds (ceramic shell mould, several types of plaster moulds including anhydride gypsum and also natural sand mould). In this thesis there is also description of casting the famous piece of bull from “Byci skala” (Bull Rock). The bull was cast into traditional clay mould which is believed to be the original technology. Also the original shape of the bull casting was reconstructed, i.e. a copy of the original bull casting made. As the main achievement of this work is an overview and comparison of several technologies suitable for making art castings.
Making a replica of cannon barell
Helešic, Jan ; Ostratický, Marek (referee) ; Bořil, Petr (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor's thesis is the production of a cannon replica mainly on the basis of a suitably chosen technology. On the basis of a literary study, which consisted mainly of an examination of historical sources, gravitational casting was chosen. The mold was formed from the inorganic molding compound GEOPOL. The model of the barrel was created according to the historical model of the ship's cannon. The model was created by CNC machining and the material is artificial wood. Cast iron with flake graphite, which has suitable foundry properties, was chosen as the casting material. The conclusion of the thesis contains an evaluation of the selected technology.
Finančně-ekonomické efekty spojené se změnou výrobního procesu ve firmě TE Connectivity Czech, s.r.o.
Rybín, Daniel
Rybín, D. Financial-economic effects associated with the change of production process in TE Connectivity Czech, s.r.o.. Bachelors thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2023. The text describes an economic-technical study ending with an evaluation of indi-vidual product variants and an assessment of the impact on TE Connectivity Czech s.r.o. as a whole.
Design with respect to production costs
Homola, David ; Omasta, Milan (referee) ; Svoboda, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis analyse general principles of Design for cost strategy in parts manufacturing. Compared manufacturing processes are Machining, Casting, Welding and 3D Print. Each process is rated based on production costs which are influenced by amount of manufactured parts, material, shape complexity, achieved tolerances and surface quality. Those informations are than applied in construction design of chosen part for each process separately. Each design is than compared based on production costs for specific amount of manufactured parts.

Manufacture of cast Early Middle Age Viking Weapon parts
Brůža, František ; Mareček, Petr (referee) ; Záděra, Antonín (advisor)
The Bachelor’s project is concerned with the research and the following analysis of information and the period technologies needed for making a replica of the brass hilt of a 10th century sword. The project particularly focuses on the period casting technology. Next, the possibility of making a replica by a 3D scan and 3D print is discussed. The project also includes a comprehensive experiment consisting of casting parts of the hilt using the period technology. The functionality reproducing the hilt by 3D technology up to the printed model stage is also tested.
