Utilization of pressuremeter tests for determination of load-transfer curves
Bírošík, Matej ; Zdražil,, Karel (referee) ; Chalmovský, Juraj (advisor)
The thesis is divided into seven parts. The first part is theoretical and consists of description of load-transfer method and its principal, description of load-transfer curves used for following inverse analysis and method for determining shaft friction in ß method. In the second part, there is an explanation of the determination of Ménard pressuremeter modulus from pressuremeter tests. The third part consists of the pressuremeter tests analysis and description of evaluating process of the pressuremeter modulus for different types of subsoil. In the fourth part states parametric study of load-transfer curves compiled on the basis of the pressuremeter tests, where we display an impact of input parameters on a load-settlement curves. The fifth part contains inverse analysis of pile load tests, which are set in similar geological conditions. Summary of used input parameters for individual load-transfer curves states in the sixth part. These parameters are responsible of achieving the best match of predicted and measured load-settlement curves. The last part is devoted to the thesis conclusion, which is the determination of parameters as inputs to the shape of load-transfer curves for bored piles with utilization of the pressuremeter tests.
Securing the pit in over-consolidated clay
Svobodová, Nikola ; Chalmovský, Juraj (referee) ; Miča, Lumír (advisor)
Text of an abstract. The aim of the Bachelor’s thesis is design and assessment of the supporting "hypothetical" excavation pit in Neogene Brno clay. The pit is situated near the swimming stadium Za Lužánkami, where subsoil is formed this type of soil. This area is also marked as landslide area. In the first part of the thesis evaluation of the geological and geotechnical conditions is presented. Design and evaluation of the selected supporting system (two times anchored pile wall) cross-section to fulfill the Ultimate Limit State and Serviceability Limit State is described in the third part. The computational program GEO5 Sheeting Design was used to determination of required embedded depth of the wall, number of anchors and internal forces. The assessment of the first limit state of the construction was made partly by hand and partly with the help of the software application. The determination of horizontal movements of pile wall was performed via GEO5 Sheeting Assessment. External stability was analyzed using GEO5 Stability. The last section gives description of the technological construction plan.
Excavation pit in Olomouc
Plevová, Lenka ; Masopust,, Jan (referee) ; Miča, Lumír (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis focuses on sheeting of a construction pit in Faculty hospital of Olomouc. The purpose of this thesis is to design sheeting construction and describe technological process of buiding the chosen construction type which is in this work represented by once anchored pile wall with the large axial distance. In adition, sheet pile wall was analysed in two various geotechnical programs, GEO5 and Plaxis 2D. Furthermore, this work contains a view and a brief description of other methods used for sheeting constructions. In the end, this thesis deals with economic comparison of designed type of pile wall with another two types, tangent pile wall and secant pile wall.
Foundation Pits of Circular Cross-section
Plevová, Lenka ; Boštík, Jiří (referee) ; Glisníková, Věra (advisor)
The master´s thesis focuses on design of underground sprinkler tank for a shopping centre Sconto in Hradec Králové. The purpose of this thesis is to design and to analyse all parts of this construction. These parts are the roof, the bottom plate and the wall, which is represented by secant piles. Due to the high level of the ground water which causes a great pressure on the bottom of the tank, the solution of the bottom plate represents very important part of this thesis. There were used two programs for an analysis, Scia Engineer 2013 and FIN EC – Beton 3D. Furthermore, the work contains a view and a brief description of methods used for sheeting of foundation pits of a circular cross-section. In the end, this thesis contains the design of two other solutions of bottom plate and its economic comparison.
Application of the load-transfer method in determination of the micropiles load-displacement curve
Mareš, Matěj ; Havlíček, Jaroslav (referee) ; Chalmovský, Juraj (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is about the use of load transfer method for micropiles design. Load tests of micropiles, GEWI system and Ischebeck TITAN system, bored mostly in neogene clays were evaluated. The obtained test results were subsequently utilized for inverse analysis of limit load curve and validation of recommended input parameters for the prediction of micropile behaviour using the load transfer method within the PMpLTO software. Lastly, a parametric study considering various micropile lengths was performed and evaluated.
Prediction of load-displacement behaviour of large diameter piles using the finite element method
Dvořák, Tomáš ; Miča, Lumír (referee) ; Chalmovský, Juraj (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the inverse analysis of instrumented load tests of bored piles in cohesionless and cohesive soils. Evaluations of the detailed monitoring are compared with the results of inverse analyses. Inverse analyses are preformed using the finite element method with an advanced material model considering the higher stiffness within very small strains in PLAXIS and alternatively using the load-transfer method in PMpLTO. The difference of pile-soil interaction in different soil types is discussed and the difference in the process of shaft friction mobilization is also evaluated. In cohesionless soils values of shaft friction are many times higher due to the increment of radial stress which is caused by effect of constraint dilatancy in shear zone at pile-soil interface.
Development and validation of a hypoplastic model for soft clays incorporating rate effects and strength anisotropy
Jerman, Jan ; Mašín, David (advisor) ; Blahůt, Jan (referee) ; Hrubešová, Eva (referee)
The thesis presents modelling framework for soft clays. Soft clays typically occur in marine environment, coastal areas and along rivers, soft clay deposits are also associated with the periglacial conditions. Soft clay seabeds are also prevalent in locations used as foundations of various energy sources (renewable and hydrocarbon). Growing world population increased demand for land, and this, consequently, leads to seaward land reclamation for urban development in coastal areas. Thus, construction on soft soil deposits has become increasingly important as soft clays occur in locations of construction projects for city infrastructure. The stress-strain behaviour of soils, especially clayey soils, is well-known to be rate- dependent. This fact is relevant for specific engineering projects, where the long-term performance of constructions is of interest. This is particularly important for soft clays as the very high degree of compressibility in primary compression and during creep makes rate-dependent soil behaviour an important factor for geotechnical problems. Moreover, the slow slope movements of slow-moving landslides and creeping slopes are controlled mostly by shear creep properties of the shear-zone soil and the effective stress state. Thus, for the case of creeping landslide modelling, a...
Structural mapping of exploration geotechnical boreholes walls within 2nd phase – Decline
Waclawik, Petr ; Schuchová, Kristýna ; Kukutsch, Radovan ; Georgiou, Lucie
Structural-geological analysis, i.e. fracturing assessment of the walls of geotechnical boreholes (CIS38 and CIS39) within the projected Decline in lithium exploratory area was carried out on the basis of optical (OPTV) and acoustic televiewer (HiRAT) records evaluation. HiRAT and OPTV probes are part of the Robertson Geologging logging equipment. The apparatus has an electric winch with a four core logging cable, which transmits the data recorded by the probes via a data logger to a computer. The spatial data obtained from interpretation of the geotechnical boreholes records were structurally analysed. The submitted research report comprehensively summarises the findings obtained from the structural mapping of geotechnical boreholes. On the basis measured data the rock mass quality evaluation of boreholes walls were additionally done. The complex data have been allowed very precise analysis of rock mass structural conditions, which are necessary for design of opening mine working.
