Effect of Spa Therapy on Quality of Life and Consumption of Drugs in Patients Aged 35-50 Years with Musculoskeletal Disease.

This bachelor thesis titled ?The Effects of Spa Treatment on the Quality of Life and the Consumption of Drugs in Patients Aged 35 to 50 Years with Musculoskeletal Disease? deals, in the first chapters of the theoretical part, with the history and current status of balneology, individual spa treatments, and the importance of spa treatments in treating musculoskeletal diseases. The other chapters deal with health, the quality of life, its measurement and evaluation. Within the thesis, two goals were set: (a) to find out the effects of spa treatment on the quality of life and (b) to monitor the effects of spa treatment on the consumption of drugs in patients aged 35 to 50 years with musculoskeletal disease who were clients of Bertiny lázně in Třeboň. For fulfil the objectives of the thesis, the method interviewing was applied using standardized questionnaire SF-36 about the health related quality of life, which is suitable for finding out about the influence of spa therapy on the quality of life and health state of spa treatment clients. The respondents were examined prior their spa treatment, i.e. immediately after coming to Bertiny lázně in Třeboň, and then 3 months after the spa treatment, using the method of ?postal survey?. The results of this thesis show that the health state of patients with musculoskeletal disease improved after completing spa treatment, most distinctly in the domain of pain relief (30%) and in the vitality domain (26%). The consumption of drugs saw only minimal changes. Based on the results obtained, we can clearly say that spa treatment contributes to the improvement of the quality of life of patients with musculoskeletal disease and it also clearly points to the effectiveness of finance invested in balneology.

Clients´ Perception of Spa Services in Aurora Spa

An importance of spa services is especially in the medical treatment, but their economic significance is also very substantial. It significantly affects investment activities and an employment and it contributes to a regional development. Aurora Spa in Třeboň specializes in treating of musculoskeletal disorders, rheumatic diseases, post-traumatic and post-operative conditions and overall recondition of the body. Spa services in Třeboň have been, since a long time ago, associated with a natural healing source, which is abundant in this locality ? a boggy soil. Aurora Spa is not determined only for ill clients, but it is frequently visited by healthy people who undergo reconditioning and relaxation stays. The current trend heads toward to the fact that in the future the spa care covered from the public health insurance, will be in some way limited and clients will have to pay either a part or the entire treatment from their own financial funds. For this reason it is necessary to concentrate with spa service operators on a great clients´ satisfaction with their spa stay, so that they would return to the spa facility. Since I have worked for five years in the area of providing of the treatment services, I followed my bachelor thesis ?Clients´ satisfaction with spa services? by this diploma thesis, in order to re-map the clients´ satisfaction with services provided in above mentioned spa. I wanted to find out whether clients´ attitudes to the provided services had significantly changed from the research in 2009 year in my bachelor thesis. I used for the research the same questionnaire as in the research in 2009 year. 220 respondents were chosen for the research in the period of September 2011; 110 respondents had their stay covered by some of health insurance companies, either in a form of a complex or a contributory spa care and 110 respondents paid their treatment stay from their own funds as private payers. I supposed that men would be more satisfied than women and clients to whom some of the health insurance companies paid the stay, would be more satisfied than clients paying the stay from their own funds. After processing the data, there were not found out any significant differences in the satisfaction between these groups of respondents and in comparison with the research in the bachelor thesis from 2009 year there were not apparent any significant variations in the clients´ satisfaction with the services provided, which confirms, that the spa services in Aurora Spa are still on a very high level. Results of this diploma thesis can be used by employees of Aurora Spa to enhance the quality of provided spa service in all areas and to improve staff access to their clients.

Czech Republic spa with a focus on the Hradec Králové region and its potential spa

This bachelor thesis is on the spa of Czech Republic with focus on Hradec Králové region. The main objective is to assess status of Hradec Králové region in Czech spa industry and identify opportunities for further development in the region. Balneology in theoretical part is generally defined - basic concepts, new trends and brief history of spas in our area. They also mention basic legislation and institutions operating in Czech spa. In the practical part, they first analyzed and characterized spa of Czech Republic. The conclusions are summarized in the SWOT analyse. Then you have got characterization and analyse of Hradec Králové region. Here you can see more possibilities for further development in the region. The conclusions are again summarized in the SWOT analyse. In this bachelor thesis are used data published in UZIS, CSU and CzechTourism.

People and water. A contribution to the history of personal hygiene in the turn of the 19th and 20th century

This dissertation deals with not fully explored area of daily life, a personal hygiene. The main period which this work dwells on is the turn of the 19th and 20th century but sometimes I need to go further to the past when the fundamentals of the personal hygiene were laid. The work tries to devone the conditions of the hygiene which were influenced by sociocultural as well as scientific and technical factors. It also studies the personal hygiene including care of body, hair, teeth, cosmetics and body scent alike. Among these topics belong linen and clothes. One of the highlighted aims is revealing the function of spas (especially modern balneology) and up-and-coming physical education and sport in the increasing standarts of the personal hygiene. The heuristic base is composed of contemporary specialized literature and press as well as memoirs and encyclopeadias.

Vliv lázeňství na zaměstnanost na Třeboňsku

Cílem diplomové práce je potvrzení, případně vyvrácení hypotézy, že nízká míra nezaměstnanosti v mikroregionu Třeboňsko je způsobena přítomností lázní v tomto regionu. Práce se zabývá souvislostmi lázeňství s cestovním ruchem a jejich ekonomickými a sociálními dopady na třeboňský mikroregion. Teoretická část popisuje obecná východiska trhu práce a zabývá se charakteristikou analyzovaného mikroregionu a třeboňských lázní. Analytická část se zabývá vlivem lázeňství a s ním souvisejícího cestovního ruchu na zaměstnanost v mikroregionu Třeboňsko. Následuje analýza zaměstnanosti a nezaměstnanosti na Třeboňsku ve sledovaném období. Na závěr je uveden nástin budoucího rozvoje lázeňství a cestovního ruchu Třeboňska a s tím spojené výzvy a doporučení.

Tato práce se zabývá lázeňstvím v České republice. Popisuje vznik lázeňství na území Evropy i na našem území. Vysvětluje hlavní zákony vztahující ? se lázeňství, vysvětluje zaměření lázeňství na spíše zdravotnickou funkci a její úlohu v systému zdravotnictví v České republice. Uvádí hlavní svazy a sdružení působící v lázeňství a jejich význam. V další části práce je analýza současného stavu lázeňství s přihlédnutím k vývoji zvláště v posledních pěti letech. Tato část také sleduje vývoj systémů měření kvality v lázeňství a dále se zaměřuje na Anenské slatinné lázně, jako vzor v hodnocení kvality. Kvůli možnému drastickému omezení rozsahu hrazení lázeňské péče zdravotními pojišťovnami uvádí dále možné způsoby financování lázní, jednak dotacemi z EU, jednak uvádí komerční trendy v tomto sektoru
