Pospíšil, Zdeněk ; Holoubek, Jiří (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the reactive power compensation. The reactive power compensation falls into an important measures reducing current load of electrical grids and other equipments, which increase its lifespan and decrease energy losses. The bachelor thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part is explained the theory necessary for good understanding of compensation, explained the sanctions and the additional fees for unsatisfactory power factor and summarized the impacts of compensation on the electrical network. Further is shown the basic classification of compensation by its place of connection, type of compensation device and regulation. The end of theoretical part is dedicated to the simple calculation of compensation. The practical part deals with the real design of the reactive power compensation for a particular industrial consumer.
Reactive power compensation systems
Lakomý, Marek ; Paar, Martin (referee) ; Drápela, Jiří (advisor)
Bachelor‘s thesis deals with the compensation of reactive power, which enables improved power factor correction. The theoretical part includes an explanation of basic concepts of the theory of reactive power compensation, the basic allocation of compensating equipment, their description and basic computational relations. Simulation of compensation devices, making laboratory models and measuring their parameters were realized as the practical part of the thesis.
Reactive power compensation of electrothermal devices
Tomeš, Martin ; Paar, Martin (referee) ; Lázničková, Ilona (advisor)
The work deals with reactive-power compensation (power factor correction = PFC) in practice. The theoretical part describes the basic concepts of power factor correction, reasons for the PFC, and the ways of the PFC, eventually a sanction for a breach of rated power factor. Attention is given to basic partition of the PFC and compensation devices which are capacitors and detuning reactors. The practical part is focused on the PFC analysis for a concrete customer where the central compensation is projected. The practical part is also focused on a detuned power factor correction which is often used by reason of increases in number of nonlinear loads nowadays.
The reactive-power compensation of the industrial consumer
Mišinger, Ondřej ; Bok, Jaromír (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
The work deals with reactive-power compensation (power factor correction = PFC) at low and medium voltage. The theoretical part is focused on explaining the basic concepts of power factor correction and the reasons why the PFC is made. There is stated the basic allocation of PFC. Attention is devoted mainly for detuned PFC, which is nowadays often used because of the large number of nonlinear loads installed by customers. There are listed also the basic computational relations. Moreover, there are described the basic elements of compensation devices, which are capacitors, detuning reactors, contactors and power factor regulators. The practical part is dealt with power factor compensation for a particular industrial customers. There are offered several variants of the technical implementation of the PFC. These various options are compared from both technical and economic terms.
Dynamic Compensation of Reactive Power
Horenský, Martin ; Topolánek, David (referee) ; Drápela, Jiří (advisor)
This master’s thesis is focusing on compensation of reactive power, especially on creating demonstrative model of static var compensation unit (SVC). Main topic of thesis is to apply this device for fast balancing dynamic conversions of recieved reactive power. In theoretical part is described suitable method for determination of instantaneous power. Next, there is basic description of all means used for compensation of reactive power and detailed description of the SVC compensator. Practical part includes design of compensation unit and control program in LabVIEW. The pq theory is implemented for detection instantaneous power. The results of validating functionality of compensator are presented in the last part of thesis.
Design of supply network configuration for large engineering company
Němec, Jan ; Holoubek, Jiří (referee) ; Topolánek, David (advisor)
This master-thesis analyzes issues of suggestion configuration of power supply network of industrial business. The option of the scheme of the configuration, the voltage level, the way of compensation of the reactive power, the way of the suppretion of the energetic interference and other requirements is included in the main tasks. This option has to be convenient with the requirements of the industrial business. The important point of this proposal is to prevent the influence of the superordinate distribution network. The compensation which keeps the power factor in the prescribed limits is one of the precautions against the influencing of the network. The second precaution is the elimination of energetic interference. The higher voltage, the fluctuation and the asymmetry of the voltage are the interferences which have the biggest impact on the industrial networks. The master-thesis offers the summary of the possibilities and ways of the elimination of the basic elements of the energetic interference.
Reactive power compensation in Petrochemie company using a passive power factor correction system instead of synchronous generators
Martinák, Rostislav ; Žila, Drahoslav (referee) ; Drápela, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis deals with the reactive power compensation, namely the possibility of reactive power compensation in Petrochemie company using a passive power factor correction system instead of synchronous generators, as part of the contract Kompel company. The thesis analyzes problems of definition of power in circuits with sinusoidal and nonsinusoidal voltages and currents. Furthermore, this thesis describes the power factor correction systems used in the low and medium voltage industrial and distribution networks. The last four chapters contain description of the existing state of power plant in Petrochemie company. There are considered the possibility of use of existing power factor correction system owned by company. The new static power factor correction system is suggested and functionality of power factor correction systems is verified through the simulations.
Design of reactive power compensation in distribution network
Popek, Jiří ; Holoubek, Jiří (referee) ; Lázničková, Ilona (advisor)
This thesis is about reactive power compensation in industrial network. Task is design reactive power compensation devices, so that the power factor, which is main indicator of power quality, was within the limits required by the distributor. This is applied to wholesale customers of electrical energy. Reactive power consumed by appliances increased the current that flows through the network, transmission losses and voltage drop. Reactive power compensation is a measure reducing load current and ohmic losses in a supply line. Given that the compensation is one of the significant cost-saving measures in electric power distribution. Distributor requires electric power consumption with a lagging power factor in the range from 0,95 to 1. Other values of power factor are penalized.
Study of Power Plant Connection to Power Network
Sýkora, Martin ; Kurfűrst, Jiří (referee) ; Paar, Martin (advisor)
It is necessary to judge the influences of producers on the electric compounds while creating electrical energy or during the regulation of those existing. These analyses are sorted out by so called studies of connectivity. These calculations analyze the degree of connection of the producer and the standby unit during a break-down. The results of this report are several recommendations for creating such unit and succeeding steps leading to secure the stability and safety of the electric compound operation. The aim of this thesis is to discuss about software for PC solutions for static and dynamic network model, to draft power outlet into a network of generating high voltage, to complete a study of connectivity with respect to all the distortion factor, as increased voltage, inrush current at startup, flicker, harmonic currents, interference ripple, contribution to short-circuit current, reactive power control options, and demands for compensation.
