Crisis measures in anonymous annoncement of a bomb explosion in Římov Dam
MIHALIČ, Petr
The thesis deals with activities of components of the Integrated Emergency Management System of the Czech republic in the event of an anonymous bomb threat on the dam of Římov reservoir and evaluates preparedness and professional conduct of individual fundamental components of the Integrated Emergency Management System (IEMS) in this emergency incident. The content of the thesis is based on findings obtained by reading up available materials and information about actions of components of the IEMS in the course of individual bomb threats from the past. The objective of the thesis is to analyse the problem of an anonymous bomb threat, to assess preparedness of individual components of the IEMS to manage the situation in the event of anonymous bomb threat on the dam of Římov reservoir and to suggest possible procedures of the IEMS as a response to this criminal activity. Evaluation of preparedness of components of the IEMS is performed by questionnaire research the results of which are presented in charts. I also describe possible scenarios of this emergency incident and a scenario of the response of components of the IEMS, possibly resulting in state of emergency. In the last part of the thesis I evaluate preparedness of the Integrated Emergency Management System components in this emergency incident and I point out possible shortcomings which could occur in reality and which resulted from the analysis.
Clearing the airway by an emergency care provider in the prehospital emergency care
NOVOTNÁ, Magdalena
Clearing an obstructed airway to facilitate breathing is a critical element of airway management. It is the emergency care provider who administers first aid and he/she has to master the technique of opening the airway as well as the aspiration prevention. The right airway management may avert the life-threatening condition of an injured person. The thesis is focused on the possibilities of clearing the airway by the emergency care provider in the Central Bohemian region. Techniques of opening and clearing the airway both without or with aids, which are at the emergency care provider´s disposal in prehospital care, are mentioned. The research set was formed by emergency care providers in transit first-aid stations providing emergency care in the Central Bohemian region. The research was conducted by the quantitative method. To collect data, the questionnaire method was used. I handed out 100 questionnaires in transit first-aid stations in the Central Bohemian region. The research was anonymous. The rate of return was 76%, it means I was given back 76 anonymously filled in questionnaires. The objective of the research was to survey possibilities of clearing the airway by the emergency care provider in the Central Bohemian region {--} and the objective was accomplished. The hypothesis I {--} on the part of an emergency care provider the most effective way how to clear the airway is endotracheal intubation {--} was confirmed {--} as well as the hypothesis II - emergency care providers do not use the {\clqq}LMA- Fastrach`` to clear the airways. The conclusions of the thesis may be used in making up standardized methods and techniques of clearing the airway in the prehospital emergency care. They may also be used for further education of university students of nursing and medical care.
Possibilities of managing the situacion when first aid´s crew is attacked
SVITÁKOVÁ, Hana
Abstract Currently media more and more often inform about various attacks, violence, criminal acts or aggression. These are basically types of interpersonal relationships with that we live daily. We may observe such negative aspects of human behaviour even on professional level. That concerns in particular activities of so called assistance jobs. Assistant jobs include but are not limited to services of ambulance providing daily pre-hospitalization emergency health care to patients in acute situations. Number of rescuers who were attacked and injured is increasing. Problematic situation at the place of their response is often not suitably solved by ambulance staff and that makes it difficult to provide good quality care to patients. A quantitative research has been conducted within this Bachelor essay. Data was collected based on responses to questions. The quantitative research has been performed in form of a questionnaire. The subjects of research were ambulance rescuers, response nurses, doctors and ambulance drivers of South Bohemian Ambulance. The research has been performed in April 2008. The Bachelor essay includes two sections, one practical and one theoretical. The purpose of the essay was to map the issue of ambulance crew attacks. The objective has been achieved. The following three hypotheses have been formulated. Hypothesis No. 1: Health rescuers feel to be threatened by patients/clients more than ambulance drivers. This hypothesis has not been confirmed. Hypothesis No. 2: Ambulance doctors feel to be threatened by patients/clients less than health rescuers. This hypothesis has not been confirmed. Hypothesis No. 3: Health rescuers have better self defence skills than nurses working at ambulance. This hypothesis has not been confirmed. Results of the above research are to be published at www.zzsjck.cz. The will form a base for implementation of self defence courses in cooperation with Faculty of Health and Social Studies of South Bohemian University in České Budějovice.
Equal occupational opportunities for men and women in the rescue services
ŠÁMAL, David
This Bachelor{\crq}s thesis, entitled ``Equal occupational opportunities for men and women in the rescue services{\crq}q is devoted, as the name implies, to equality between men and women. The work is focused on the South Bohemian Medical Rescue Service and explores the gender ratios in this organisation. The research showed that the organisation itself is governed by the legislation in force and is not the cause of gender discrimination, although the gender stereotypes of society are deeply rooted in the opinions of the general staff of the South Bohemian Medical Rescue Service.

Suffering, dying and death in prehospital care
MAJSTR, Jiří
This thesis is topically focused on suffering, dying and death of a patient (patients) in fore hospital urgent care. It deals with above mentioned phenomena from the paramedic point of view. It refers to the impact of these events on paramedics, their perception of patients at sudden worsening of chronic disease, acute worsening of health state, immediate life threatening or death. The aim of the thesis is to map and interpret the attitude of addressed paramedics to given facts, which they normally encounter in their practice, and the evaluation of reflexive projection of above mentioned experiences into ethical attitude to the patients. The thesis is based on qualitative research. It uses the methods of controlled interview with ten chosen paramedics who have different period of professional practice. The dialogues are transcribed in the chapter called Results of Research. In the thesis the answers to particular questions are compared and the results of the research are the hypotheses which can be evaluated by means of quantitative research in the future.
Emergency Operators´ Mental Load
HUDEČKOVÁ, Karolína
This bachelor thesis deals with mental strain in dispatchers of medical emergency services. I focused on covering these questions, the follow-up analysis and description, on the basis of research. The first objective was to survey opinions of operations centre dispatchers of the mental strain in their work. The next objective was their opinion of the question whether the number of dispatchers on duty in one shift influences their mental strain. My research is based on questionnaire surveying, and the research object covered 40 employees in operational centres all over the Region of South Bohemia. (Note: a nationwide research would be technically hardly realisable, as it is improbable that the questionnaires sent in would be returned). The introductory chapters contain a brief description of the operations centre and activities that the dispatchers perform every day, and I try to formulate the principles of the correct communication that should be led in the conversation with the callers on the distress line. I also describe general features of stress, the factors that lead to it, and the states breaking out as a result of its long-term effect on people. Specifically in this thesis, I describe post-traumatic stress disorder and the burn-out syndrome, and I also mention prevention to defend oneself against these risk factors. The second part of the thesis focuses on the results of the research conducted by quantitative technique, by handing out 45 questionnaires, 40 of which were processed after they were sent back. The research and results make up an essential part of the thesis and bring proofs of the fact that employees of operations centres undergo mental strain influenced by a number of factors. Some of these factors can be influenced, and becoming aware of these factors, this strain may be at least partially reduced. The thesis also uses the comparative method with the possibility of comparison of the mental strain between individual dispatchers. Last but not least, it contains inspiration for considering these questions, and personal proposals for a positive contribution to lowering this strain and a further development of this problem in general.
Capacities rescue teams - EMS- in time
BOŽOVSKÁ, Petra
In my bachelor work I dealt with problems of medical rescue service and its medical emergency service rescue groups and with emergency rescue help and times within which members of these rescue services make their activity. Medical rescue service provides affected people with a professional pre-clinical urgent care where they were injured or where a sudden disorder happened. All this happen during their transport to other professional treatment and also during their forwarding to a health service. Members of rescue services provide affected people with pre-clinical urgent care. Members of rescue services of medical emergency service are a group of emergency medical help (EMH), medical emergency service (MES) and a group of air rescue service (ARS). The system of medical rescue service is made on the principle of a sequence and refilling possibilities of particular levels providing urgent pre-clinical care and on the principle of an organization of medical rescue service in a way so that the accessability of pre-clinical urgent care and its providing within 15 minutes from receiving emergency call except for the cases worthy special respect is ensured. The rescue system on the level of districts should be able to treat 50 affected people (in county boroughs up to 150 people) at the liquidation of consequences of exceptional events with a rise of mass medical casualties.

VILDMAN, Radek
The main goals of this dissertation were to discover wheather there exists some methodology for actions of the integrated emergency system in this king of emergency and to create planning for and responding to the emergency. This work includes a simple instrument for basic orientation for members of the Police of the Czech republic and members of other emergency services that may deal with the emergency arising after an explosion of a dirty bomb. The work presents a concrete model situation of the above mentioned emergency and the function of each emergency service, especially the Police of the Czech republic and description of their work, with the references to present legislation. This work points out the differences between theory and practice, which emerged after thorough examination of the single actions and facilities of each part of the integrated emergency system.
