DISSATISFACTION WITH OUR OWN BODY AND BEING ON DIETS AS RISK FACTORS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF EATING DISORDERS AND MONITORING THE METHODS OF CHECKING THE BODY WEIGHT OF SECONDARY SCHOOL GIRLS
KOUBKOVÁ, Magda
The eating disorders rank among serious diseases which especially teenage girls and young women suffer. The International Classification of Diseases differentiates a number of eating disorders; anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa are the most frequent and as well the most dangerous of them. The aim of this dissertation was to establish the presence of some risk attitude, which we encounter with the eating disorders, and to monitor body weight control methods within the secondary school female student population. The dissertation verified the hypotheses concerning the difference between secondary grammar school female students and other secondary school female students. The secondary grammar school female students were slimmer than the secondary school and trade school female students. The secondary school and trade school female students wished to lose weight more often than the secondary grammar school female students and they kept diets more often as well. And further the dissertation verified the hypothesis concerning the dissatisfaction with one{\crq}s own body which increases related to the body weight. The questionnaire research was applied to verified hypothesis.
Social relation problems of patients with anorexia nervosa
POSPÍCHALOVÁ, Štěpánka
Purpose of this work was to describe situation in social interaction of people with anorexia nervosa. I dealt with personal diaries of a patient who had anorexia nervosa and deeply examined one of the diaries. Personal thoughts desribed in diaries were analysed and resulted in picture of social interaction of the person. I also inteviewed father and mother who desribed retrospectively friends of the girl and relations between family members. Comparing these three sources I came up with answer on the basic research question: How patiens with anorexia nervosa make social relations. By doing this the objective of the work was accomplished. Results were summed up in 8 points. Each point clearly describes relation problem of the patient. Findings were compared to literature. The end of the work is devoted to the problem of eating disorders generally. Patient is a copybook example of anorexia nervosa. Her social interaction is complicated or even does not exist at all. Family relations are disturbed, the girl is looking for contacts outside family but these are unstable and short term only. Better results would be accomplished if sample of objects was bigger than only one patient. Following qualitative research there could be quantitative research which would show how interaction is problematic for patients with anorexia nervosa. Based on the results of my work larger interest should be dedicated to ties of patients with outside population.
