Database design for online catalog of music groups

The aim of this paper is to describe the various stages of the process of creating the design and subsequent development of a database for the website collects information about music groups, albums and songs. The main emphasis is on optimized connections between entities and database structures and functionality allowing the use of several languages on the site without disrupting the application of the website.

Nowadays, every single company needs to operate with large amount of data to support daily operation. Although there is pretty good market offer with information systems for managing various kinds of data, only small part of them is suitable for the company that does not deal with sale of goods but provides services, particularly marketing services or IT services (e.g. programming). This thesis describes the design and development of such a system which has a main goal to satisfy the needs of small to medium companies whose needs are still different than what currently marketed products can offer. Such a system will, apart from other functions, be able to manage projects and track work time of employees.

This Bachelor thesis deals with creation of a web application that lets a user manage not only the content but also a web page design. The first part of work analyses the current freely available content management systems. The second part describes the selected technology and creation of a separate application.
Comparison of Open Source relational database systems

The goal of this work is to bring comparison of significant Open Source relational database systems and one proprietary system. The comparison of the systems consists of functional comparison according to the actual trends in relational database systems and furthermore on performance testing, which will show up how efficient are single systems during execution of various commands and for which situations it is appropriate to use them. This work can be divided to three parts. First part is focused on overview of the market situation, choice of the systems intended to compare and introduction of the systems in light of their history, present state and future trends. Comparison criteria, database model for SQL commands testing and methodology of testing process are determined in the second part of this work. And finally results of the comparison and performance testing are in the third part of this work. Benefits of this work can be seen from several different viewpoints. The first aspect is the comparison of single Open Source database systems and retrieval of differences between them. Next aspect is comparison of Open Source products with proprietary system, where the source code can be considered as a business secret. Last but not least aspect is comparison of single types of commands themselves, whereof reader will obtain overview, which commands and language constructs can be used and which ones should be avoided.

The main focus of the bachelor thesis "Using a Web server based on the LAMP in the commercial sphere" is to describe the possibilities of this solutions (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) as a web server in the commercial sphere. In addition I will present a summary of advantages and disadvantages of this solution, compare it to competing platforms, and describe the legal consequences, design, installation and configuration of these products.
WWW presentation of the SALVETE company

The main aim of this diploma work is to create the official web presentation with the site content editing options by the administrator himself with a help of administrator section. So the work will be divided into two parts. Those two parts will be preceding a database design structure. 1) first part This part concentrates on the creation of web sites which will be used by a common web visitor. That means to form quality design that plays the main role in today{\crq}s web site visiting. This design will be cut to pieces and gradually put together to HTLM image by XHTML 1.0 Strict standard - with the use of formatting styles CSS 2.1, naturally. All this part will be using PHP and MySQL technology, whereas the sites contain will be downloaded from the database. 2) second part The aim of the second part is to create the web sites again. Those sites will be, however, accessible only to the administrator. This section will allow to the administrator edit, erase and add sites contain. Once again with PHP and MySQL.
