Assesment of available nitrogen and phosphorus in forest soils in the catchment area of Šumava lakes using ion exchange resins
KOTRBOVÁ, Gabriela
The aim of this study was to assess amount of available nitrogen and phosphorous in forest soils using the ion exchange resin (IER) bag method in watersheds of Plešné and Čertovo lake from 2003 to 2012. Watersheds were exposed to acidic deposition for long time. The results indicate higher amount of total available nitrogen and phosphorous in soils from the watershed of Plešné lake because the forest there has been infected with bark beetle (Ips typographus) and it influences transformations through the whole ecosystem.
The effect of forest management and plant dominant on nitrogen transformation in soils of acidified mountain spruce forests in the Bohemian Forest National Park
STAŇKOVÁ, Pavla
The aim of this study was to compare and contrast mineral and microbial nitrogen concentrations in soils of semi-natural and natural mountain spruce forests in the Březník area, the Bohemian Forest National Park, under dead wood and four plant dominants with respect to different forest management after windstorm and bark beetle events applied in 1997.
Comparison of selected methods of calculating of the basic runoff in a small watershed and evaluation of the basic runoff effect to the concentrations of nitrogen in total runoff
MAIEROVÁ, Monika
This thesis is focused on the selected methods of calculating basic runoff on a small catchment basin known as the P6, which belongs to the basin Kopaninsky flow and assess the impact on the basic runoff concentration of nitrate nitrogen in the total runoff. The thesis also analyzes the total, surface and subsurface runoff with its detailed division. There are also described in detail the chosen methods used for the separation of basic drainage. There is shown their mutual comparison too. We dealt with the nitrogen in groundwater. The methods for separation of basic runoff are described with regard to the content of nitrogen compounds, which are practically the most common type of pollution of groundwater used as drinking water sources.
Concentration of nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus) in groundwater and baseflow
PETRÁŠKOVÁ, Kateřina
The aim of my bachelor thesis is explain genesis and difference of basic nutrients - nitrogen, phosphorus, and describe its cycle and occurrence in water. The second part of this thesis is about groundwater, its cycle and difference in human society. It describe natural and anthropogenic impact (mainly agriculture) influence over quality of groundwater. The next part is about concentration of nitrogen and phosphorus in groundwater in Czech Republic and over the world and its development. The genesis of runoff and its dividing is describe in the fourth part. In this part there are also methods of baseflow separation. The last part is about development and concentration of nitrogen in baseflow.
The nitrogen in nutrition and fertilization of selected potato variety
SVOBODA, Lukáš
This thesis deals with a reactions of potato variety Princess at different levels of fertilization. The aim was to compare the effect of alone nitrogen and its combination with phosphorus and potassium on tuber yield and its composition, dry matter content and starch.
Non-destructive determination of nitrogen in biological and other materials by the photon activation analysis
Krausová, Ivana ; Mizera, Jiří ; Chvátil, David ; Krist, Pavel ; Řanda, Zdeněk ; Kučera, Jan ; Štursa, Jan
The study presents a procedure for assaying nitrogen in biologocial materials by means of instrumental photon activation analysis (IPAA). The determination has been based on counting of the non-specific 511 keV annihilation gamma rays of 13N, product of the photonuclear reaction 14N(γ, n)13N, which is a pure positron emitter. IPAA allowed determination of nitrogen down to 1 wt.%. in selected biological reference materials - NIST RM 8433 Corn Bran, 1547 Peach Leaves, 8414 Bovine Muscle, and 1577b Bovine Liver. The optimized procedure was applied also to assaying nitrogen in pulverized nanodiamond intended for medical purposes.
Concentration of nutrients and their transport from catchment area
JIRKOVSKÁ, Veronika
This work aims to approach the problems of the increasing concentrations of nutrients in the catchment area and then in the entire complex of the natural components, especially in water. In most of my work I deal with the problematic nutrients that affect the quality of water, that means nitrogen and phosphorus. Next there is also described the cycle of the both observed nutrients in nature and also characterized the factors that influence the leaching of these nutrients out into the water (from catchment area). This has also the connection with the evaluation of human activities that significantly interfere in the development of the landscape components and the consequences that come with these activities mainly relating to the pollution of water structures. My work is also briefly focused on the situation of the development of water quality in the world and in the Czech Republic in conjuction with the way, how water was and has been influenced by human activities.
Nitrogen availability and transformation in soils of acidified and nitrogen saturated mountain forest ecosystems
TAHOVSKÁ, Karolina
Nitrogen availability and transformation in acidified and N saturated soils of Czech (The Bohemian Forest, Ore Mountains) and Ukraine (Pop Ivan massif) mountain forest ecosystems were investigated. The study was primarily focused on the role of microbial immobilization in soil N retention. The study was based on field measurements (ion exchange resins), analyses of selected soil biochemical and microbial characteristics, and on laboratory experiments (15N labelling).
3. Analýza a vyhodnocení trendů atmosférické depozice. Zpráva o výsledcích a způsobu plnění projektu za rok 2003. Vyúčtování finančních prostředků.

Zpráva shrnuje dosavadní výsledky dílčího projektu 1. Shrnuje především primární výsledky měření za části roků 2003 a 2004, dále vypočtené hodnoty celkové atmosférické depozice a grafickou interpretaci získaných výsledků z šesti měřištních ploch na území KRNAPu a dvou ploch na území CHKO Jizerské hory. Časová řada měření prezentovaných v této zprávě plynule navazuje na výstup projektu VaV/610/1/99.
