Concentration of nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus) in groundwater and baseflow
PETRÁŠKOVÁ, Kateřina
The aim of my bachelor thesis is explain genesis and difference of basic nutrients - nitrogen, phosphorus, and describe its cycle and occurrence in water. The second part of this thesis is about groundwater, its cycle and difference in human society. It describe natural and anthropogenic impact (mainly agriculture) influence over quality of groundwater. The next part is about concentration of nitrogen and phosphorus in groundwater in Czech Republic and over the world and its development. The genesis of runoff and its dividing is describe in the fourth part. In this part there are also methods of baseflow separation. The last part is about development and concentration of nitrogen in baseflow.

Non-destructive determination of nitrogen in biological and other materials by the photon activation analysis
Krausová, Ivana ; Mizera, Jiří ; Chvátil, David ; Krist, Pavel ; Řanda, Zdeněk ; Kučera, Jan ; Štursa, Jan
The study presents a procedure for assaying nitrogen in biologocial materials by means of instrumental photon activation analysis (IPAA). The determination has been based on counting of the non-specific 511 keV annihilation gamma rays of 13N, product of the photonuclear reaction 14N(γ, n)13N, which is a pure positron emitter. IPAA allowed determination of nitrogen down to 1 wt.%. in selected biological reference materials - NIST RM 8433 Corn Bran, 1547 Peach Leaves, 8414 Bovine Muscle, and 1577b Bovine Liver. The optimized procedure was applied also to assaying nitrogen in pulverized nanodiamond intended for medical purposes.

Concentration of nutrients and their transport from catchment area
JIRKOVSKÁ, Veronika
This work aims to approach the problems of the increasing concentrations of nutrients in the catchment area and then in the entire complex of the natural components, especially in water. In most of my work I deal with the problematic nutrients that affect the quality of water, that means nitrogen and phosphorus. Next there is also described the cycle of the both observed nutrients in nature and also characterized the factors that influence the leaching of these nutrients out into the water (from catchment area). This has also the connection with the evaluation of human activities that significantly interfere in the development of the landscape components and the consequences that come with these activities mainly relating to the pollution of water structures. My work is also briefly focused on the situation of the development of water quality in the world and in the Czech Republic in conjuction with the way, how water was and has been influenced by human activities.
