Drug abuse prevention in custody and jail

The theme of this thesis is "The drug prevention during detention and imprisonment." The theoretical part concerns the definition of narcotics, definition of the legislative frame of the Czech republic on Narcotic and Psychotropical Substances and pillars of the drug policy of the Czech republic. The practical part is based on the results of the survey analyzes the current state of drug prevention in prison and assess the effectiveness of the precautions. The outcome of practical part is a list of recommendations that could contribute to improving the situation.

Involment of probation service in rehabilitation of offenders.

Bachelor thesis entitled "The share of the probation and mediation services to the education of convicted" in the theoretical part describes the social and psychological aspects of the accompanying stay of inmates in custody and imprisonment, as well as types of punishment and prisons profiling. Cooperation between prisons and probation and mediation service, the impact of cooperation on individuals after release from prison. It explained the meaning and essence of fixing programs dealing with prisoners, particularly some of the educational and rehabilitative activities, such activities as work, education, special education. It also outlined the activities of a specialized department for imprisonment for juveniles, mothers with children and also programs of prisoners in these departments. The practical effect of the studied preventive benefits of completed education and training programs for rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners into society.

Free time activities of accused persons and prisoners in the Prison Pilsen

This thesis deals with free time activities within the treatment programme in Prison Pilsen. The theoretical part describes and presents free time activities in accordance with the treatment programme in the Czech prison service and then in Prison Pilsen. Hereinafter it describes professionals working with offenders in custody and imprisonment. On the basis of findings from the theoretical part there were carried out interviews with prisoners on leisure activities in the treatment program in the second part. It has been researched the contribution of this programme to the accused or convicted and the reason of doing it. It has been realized ten interviews with offenders in custody and imprisonment in Prison Plzen. The research brings three most common reasons for participation in leisure activities. These reasons are: quickly running out of time, maintaining physical and mental condition, change. This finding shows that leisure activities are beginning to take a different direction than it would have throughout the treatment program should take. Remediation is not impossible,but in addition to economic reasons, the major role is desire and conviction about the possibility of remedy.

Application of creative activities as part of the socialization of young adults serving a prison sentence

This thesis focuses on art activities as part of the socialisation of young adult prisoners within a social work setting. It is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The first part defines some basics terms, the characteristics of the target group with an emphasis on the prison sentence and activities necessary for incarceration. It also delimits pedagogy and the pedagogical disciplines related to imprisonment. Also in the theoretical part concepts connected with art activities are divided: art and socialization and their meaning in human life. The practical part was carried out in the prison in České Budějovice and was focused on young adults serving sentence. The knowledge from the theoretical part was applied with particular reference to the author´s project: ?Putování malého prince?, which was focused on the development of creativity and cooperation in the framework of socialization. It offers one of the possibilities how imprisoned people can spend their free time meaningfully.

THEORY AND METHODS OF WORKING WITH A CONVICTED THE DEFENDANTS IN PRISON

The practical part includes a comparison of methods of work with defendants prosecuted in detention with the methods of work of those convicted to pursue unconditional imprisonment. All methods are well prepared in theory and in practice are applied in a comprehensive professional staff of the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, having always in mind the right person to human dignity. They provide their clients with high quality comprehensive services in the material and spatial capabilities of individual prisons.
