Scaling of agile methodologies
Zikmund, Jan ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Balada, Jakub (referee)
Agile methodologies have become a routine part of software development. Despite their initial focus on small and local teams working on relatively simple applications, the current trend is their application to development of large and complex systems. This work provides a general introduction to agile methodologies, including the extent of their use in practice, limitations of these methods together with the introduction of the concept of scaling. The work is then devoted to starting points and the general approaches to scaling. In conclu-sion, the practical part of the work proposes methodology for evaluating performance of agile methodologies in projects. The aim is to provide an overview of agile methodologies and subsequently particularly analyze soft, organizational problems that are related to scaling agile methodologies. This work can serve as tool for management, or project office when considering adoption of agile methods.
Joe Hloucha's Collection of West African Art (1881-1957)
VRLÍKOVÁ, Lenka
This thesis focuses on origination and development of Joe Hloucha's Art Collection, a significant Czech collector of non-European art of the first half of 20th century. Despite of its great significance, African Art still does not stand in the centre of interest of the Czech art-historians. One of the main objectives of this thesis is to remind a personality who almost had been forgotten and to disclose the situation of the art market in Prague. The attention is further applied to the attempt of creating the structure of Joe Hloucha's collector activities relating to the territory of West Africa. On the basis of sources I consequently create the very first list of all works of art that come from the chosen geographic territory either bought or differently acquired into the collections of the Náprstek Museum of Asian, African and American Cultures. I tried to emphasize the priority function of some chosen artifacts which is important for the Africans. The last chapter is dedicated to the problematic destiny of the collection.
