Furniture design for specified company

This diploma thesis is dealing with the problematics of entrance halls and furniture, which is used in this space. The aim of the thesis is to develop a furniture design for the entrance hall and manufacture the product by a Czech company. It collaborates with the work which started during the exchange studies in Finland. The design of the product comes from the theoretical part and it also considers the possibilities of the company. There is a historical development of the entrance halls furniture, its function, and a research, which contains ergonomic and safety standards. There are also described used materials for the final product. In the practical part, there are sketches, the development of the products in Finland by the author and the production of the product by the Czech company.

This bachelor thesis follow up the proposal construction of desk with variable surface for residential use. The proposal of construction was given to redraw in program for production and realization. It was necessary to choose the proper construction solution and ironwork for the task. The thesis is solving the literary research about construction materials and joints of table furniture. Then the thesis deals with the modern solution of desk. Drawing documentation, bill of materials and the budget for direct cost are attached as annex.

The major objective of this bachelor thesis is a dining table, specifically an expandable table with added wooden supports. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the historical development of dining tables and their construction, the official requirements of furniture dimensions with regards to the science of ergonomics and anthropometry, types of dining tables and their manufacturing and lastly the legislature in form of the official standards and proofing. The thesis aims to support its output, which is the prototype of an expandable dining table with added wooden supports. Its layout is attached independently in the technical documentation.

This bachelor thesis deals with the design and construction of a workbench for home use. It is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the history of desks and design of table furniture in the 21st century, then there is a typology of table furniture and ergonomics for office furniture. The work also includes a search for the construction of the base and joints for tables and the search for contemporary materials. In the practical part there is a research of writing and working tables. The work includes drawing documentation and bill of materials.

Návrh konstrukčního řešení skládacího zahradního nábytku

The subject of this diploma thesis is the structural solution design of folding garden furniture, namely furniture for outdoor use. This solution ensures easy handling when keeping furniture away from bad weather or when not using it during the winter season. Specifically, this is an armchair assembly with a footstool. The armchair has the possibility of positioning the backrest. The furniture is complemented by a dining table for two people and a side table in order to achieve a pleasant stay in the exterior. This design solution was created to fulfill the requirements of a particular company and its production possibilities. The very solution is based on the current range of corresponding garden furniture in the actual European market. Further knowledge was needed in the field of anthropometry, ergonomics, furniture design and material information. The design solution is supported by the standards and technical and safety requirements. The work is supplemented by the drawing documentation, bill of materials, economic evaluation of the material costs and visualizations.

This bachelor thesis shall demonstrate a design of a table, that would fit into the interior of a particular café. The theoretical part consists of chapters related to this subject, including history of table furniture, the table furniture market condition, its typology and safety and normative regulations, whereas the output of the practical part is the construction of a prototype itself. The prototype should be constructed according to the attached technical documentation displaying final artistic design with a possible construction solution.

Porovnání pevnosti konstrukce jídelních stolů bez lubů a průhybu horních desek

This study aims to verify the stiffness of the structure and table top deflection. According to the research five types of tables with different structural design were designed. The drawings for these tables were drafted and tables were tested in the Furniture testing laboratory. According to current standards, a horizontal durability test was conducted and subsequent detection of stiffness, test of vertical impact, table top deflection and table legs variation by Eckelman. In conclusion a draft to improve the stiffness of the structure of tables and minimize table top deflection was developed together with drawing documentation of the proposed solutions. Management of the company in which they were produced tables contemplates the application of the various design principles in the production of tables without frame.

The theoretical part refers thus to the social relations, which are part of both public and private - family space in which a table plays its essential role. Not only as a subject form of everyday life, which is linked to a personal experience, but also as a form of symbolic expression. A table is kind of bearer of communication, message. This will be supported not only via etymological and sociological analysis, but also by the analysis of selected works of art. It is a way to inspect this phenomenon in the aforementioned context. The aim of this study is to show - through fine arts, historical and sociological relations - the view of a table as a continuously interconnected complex, through which it is possible to better realize some family ties and social events, including contemporary needs and priorities..
