The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of receivables management in the company LABARA s.r.o. The main objective of this bachelor thesis was to propose measures and suggestions aimed at better receivables management system in this company and to define the potential impact of their implementation on the financial situation of this company. To fulfil the main objective of the thesis, two main analyses were completed, namely a financial analysis and an analysis of the current receivables management system in the company. Findings gained from these analyses were used as stimulus for several proposals that will lead to an overall improvement of the receivables management in the company LABARA s.r.o.

The next step is an analysis of the current management of working capital, which will help identify weak points tha will be optimized. The optimization will lead to a reduction in working capital and thus to an increase in economic value added (EVA).

Working capital management and organizational performance

Working capital has been touted as the lifeblood of every firm as it strongly facilitates the daily transactional activities of the firm and extensively, determined further capital investments and firm valuation. However, it is known to be an important cog in the wheel of a company.The aim of the thesis is, therefore, to examine the relationship and the impact of working capital management and organizational performance of 26 nonfinancial firms listed in the Ghana Stock Exchange in the period 2014 and 2015. The independent variables were the working capital variables which include Average collection period, Average payment period, Cash Conversion Cycle, Inventory turnover in days and control variables such as financial leverage, size of the firm and economic growth. Net operating profit was used as the dependent variable in the model. The descriptive analysis, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression models were applied to interpret the results of data. Results of correlation analysis show that Average collection period, size,inventory turnover in days, Cash conversion cycle and financial leverage showed a positive relationship on Net operating profit for 2015 apart from average payment and GDP growth which were negative in the same year. However, inventory turnover in days, average payment period and average collection period were the only variables with the negative relationship on the performance proxy in 2014. Results of regression analysis further revealed that the independent variables might significantly explain the variations in the dependent variable at 1% level of significance with variables like size, average payment period, financial leverage and GDP all showing a significant impact on the dependent variable, since the study revealed that working capital management could either have a negative or positive relationship with firm’s performance. Thus, it is suggested that managers can create value for their investor by slashing the number of days of average collection period and inventories to a reasonable minimum and also firms should conduct a thorough evaluation of their trends of performances by employing different components of working capital variables in the analysis.More organizations and years should be considered to analyze the general overview of the effects of working capital on profitability

This Bachelor thesis is focused on issues of the economy of current assets. The objective is to find two key factors, which affect the structure and size of current assets and based on the results propose its optimal level. In the thesis, the commitment rate of money in the current assets is evaluated. The thesis focuses on the bakery industry and in order to fulfill the goal of the thesis, two business entities were selected. Current assets in the years 2014-2018 are analyzed. The analysis is performed using the evolution of current assets and its structure, furthermore utilizing conversion periods of inventory, receivables, and payables, as well as the cash conversion cycle. The selected indicators are compared with the competitions, along with the average values of the industry. Subsequently, recommendations are drawn from the results, that could help shorten the cash conversion cycle, limit the problematic sectors, and improve the effectivity of current assets.

The diploma thesis discusses the optimization of working capital in a particular entity and its impact on economic performance. The basis for assessing the current situation is financial analysis and revision of current processes related to the management of working capital. For identified shortcomings are designed solutions lead to optimized value of working capital components, minimize costs associated to inventory and partial automation of processes. Achieved results are used for evaluation of performance change, measured by economic value added.

The aim of this diploma thesis is optimization of working capital by proposing changes in the management of its individual components and subsequent evaluation of this optimization through the indicator of economic value added. Firstly, the financial situation of the company is reviewed using methods of financial analysis. This is followed by an analysis of the current state of working capital management, which continues to propose concrete measures to reduce working capital and thereby increase the company's performance. This will be examined by using the economic value added indicator.
