Controversial Issues as a Part of Education in Primary Schools

This diploma thesis focuses on dealing with controversial issues in primary schools. The main aim of this work is to find out why it is appropriate to integrate these issues into teaching, whether it is even possible for primary school pupils to deal with them and how these topics can be taught and integrated. The theoretical part begins by defining the term controversial issue, then it is devoted to developmental presupposition of primary school children for dealing with controversial issues, then how these issues relate to Citizenship and Global Education, and which methods can be used for dealing with controversial issues. Curricular reform in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic and its comparison in terms of legal constitution, conduct and attitudes of the educational staff

The main objective of this work is to identify similarities and differences of the curricular reform in the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic in terms of legal constitution, conduct and attitudes of the educational staff. As a research method uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative research, textual analysis of documents (legal norms, conceptual and strategic documents) and the questionnaire (opinions and attitudes of teachers). Respondents for the survey were selected by stratified selection to include leading educators and ordinary teachers, primary and secondary schools in both countries. The comparison showed that the process of curriculum reform in both countries are very similar, although the Slovak conducted with less delay. Framework educational programs in the Czech Republic and public education programs to Slovak consistently beyond the compulsory education through learning objectives, competencies, learning outcomes and course content. Quantitative research has demonstrated a lower level of acceptance of reforms in the Slovak Republic in comparison, which is related to a lower degree of familiarity of teachers in the country. Cross-Curricular Subjects chosen for biology education.

Bachelor thesis is literature search. It compares cross-curricular subjects in the Czech Republic with other neighbouring countries (Germany, Austria, Poland, and Slovakia). As the source of information were not used scholarly articles but also school education programmes of countries. Cross-curricular subjects offer an opportunity to connect most or all school subjects. Themes which mainly cross Biology are analyzed in detail. Cross-curricular subjects in the Czech Republic are provided only marginally.
Combining moral, character and social education with multicultural education in a realization of a project focusing on Romany people

This thesis deals with the problems concerning cross-curricular subjects, in particular focusing on Multicultural Education and Moral, Character and Social Education, their defining in the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education. Furthermore, it outlines the possibility of their interconnection in a concrete project with the topic of Romany. This thesis is based on the conviction of the importance of the transcultural approach to the Multicultural education in practise. It also deals with the character of a teacher mainly in the relation to the above mentioned cross-curricular subjects. The main objective of this thesis is the actual realisation of the project in two selected schools. The project has already been put forward in my bachelor thesis. I committed myself there to the realisation of the project in practise and for that purpose the project itself had to be adjusted, namely shortened due to its time demandingness. The actual evaluation of the project is also a part of the practical section of this thesis.
Teaching methods of health education

Aim of this diploma thesis is to provide the reader an insight into the subject of health education. Theoretical part of this thesis defines curriculum and subject didactics. Knowledge of these two documents has impact on the efficient preparation of teaching process. Practical part of this thesis defines five lessons teaching with the use of traditional and activation methods. Teaching part is focused on providing first aid. The realization itself took place on Primary school Korenskeho in Prague 5 in June 2021. Teacher's feedback is submitted for each realized educational method and proposal of possible improvements was suggested. Feedback from pupils was carried out by questionnaires. Pupils rated individual educational methods in terms of efficiency, difficulty and attractivity by five degree scale. Thirty seven pupils from two sixth grades participated in the survey. Collected data from survey were presented in graphs. Results show that pupils prefer learning with activation elements. The most pupular activities among the pupils were training in bandaging and contest Jeopardy. Analysis showed there is a dependency between effectivity and attractivity of the used methods. Output of this thesis is suggestion of preparations of individual lessons and their verification in practice.
Involvement of experts from professional practise in upper secondary school

It is about involving experts from practice in teaching. The theoratical part is based on an examination of the question of who an expert is and with it related issues of competencies. It is followed by an examination of forms of teaching in which it is possible to involve experts from practice. After this, I deal with the analysis of the curriculum of gymnasiums and the general educational program for gymnasiums. In this part of the thesis I will also touch on current related topics such as Strategy 2030+, legislation, non-profit organizations and multiculturalism. The empirical part is methodologically based on case study approaches and focuses on areas of RVP, which the management of gymnasiums sees as suitable for the involvement of experts in teaching and the use of teaching forms of co-teaching. Inclusion of interdisciplinary topics in the teaching of geography at the 2nd level of primary schools at the level of the intended corriculum

This bachelor thesis deals with classification of interdisciplinary topics into teaching on the second stage of elementary school. Specifically, it examines the integration of interdisciplinary topics into the teaching of geography, at the intended curriculum level. Part of the thesis is an analysis of randomly selected 56 school educational programmes, in which the integration of the individual interdisciplinary topics into educational programmes was examined, and into geography teaching more in details. Specific examples of use are analysed according to the individul thematic areas of the geography field of education. In conclusion of the thesis, specific examples are given from selected textbooks that confirm the relation between geography and the individual interdisciplinary topics. Position of Global Education in Primary School

This diploma thesis focuses on Global Development Education (GDE) and its position in education at primary school. The main aims of this work are to find out why it is important to integrate global development issues in education, what are primary school kids preconditions for working with global issues and how can teachers integrate global issues to education. The theoretical part of the thesis begins with definition of GDE, then it is devoted its specifics in primary school education, its place in curricular documents and how it is integrated into education. In empiric part, GDE is investigated by questionnaire survey and interviews if the topics of GDE are incorporated into education, how often and what is the reason for this integration.
