Solutions for using micro cogeneration in places where are not primarily available gas or liquid fuels

This bachelor´s thesis deals with the usage of micro cogeneration units in the places where gas and liquid fuels are not primarily available. In the research part, the available technologies and the current condition of the market of micro cogeneration units, which use solid fuels, especially biomass, are described. In the technical-economical part, there is a design of the specific unit whose thermal output corresponds to the thermal rated loss of the chosen building. The payback period of the unit with a gasifier and with a combustion engine is estimated in the cases when the chosen building is currently heated by: lignite, wooden chips, electricity and the combination of natural gas and coke.

The topic of this bachelor‘s thesis is microcogeneration for single family houses. The work consists of two main parts. The first part includes division, technical description, commercial use, energy sources, advantages and disadvantages of microgenerational units. The second part talks about technical-economical assessement of microgeneration units with combustion engine and fuel cell.
