Current state of textile waste management in the Czech Republic
Shtukaturova, Anastasia ; Šyc, Michal ; Gregor, J. ; Kropáč, J. ; Pavlas, M. ; Valta, J.
The textile industry is the fourth largest polluter after the food, construction and transport industries and the fifth largest producer of greenhouse gases. It is well known that the EU is moving towards a total ban on landfill and wants to achieve the highest possible recycling rate with the technology available today, which means that textile waste have to be recycled at the same level as other commodities. In 2018, the EU adopted a Circular Economy Package that needs to be transposed into the legislation of each Member State. It is important to adapt the waste management policy of each Member State to achieve the highest level of environmental sustainability. As a follow-up to the Circular Economy Package, a new Waste Act appeared in the Czech Republic in 2021, which will guide it towards the transition to a circular economy. The main challenges of the new Waste Act are to ban the landfilling of recyclable materials from 2030 and to achieve ambitious recycling targets for recyclable materials, including textile waste. To support the Czech Republic's transition to a circular economy model, the CEVOOH project has been established, which requires research in areas such as material flows, innovative technologies to minimise the use of primary raw materials in production, maximum material utilisation and use of waste, by-products and intermediate products, eco-design of products, monitoring and evaluation of not only environmental but also socio-economic processes. Textile waste is a part of the CEVOOH project, where the current state of this commodity and recycling methods are the main goals. As a part of research for the CEVOOH project, Material Flow Analysis (MFA) has been chosen as a tool to describe the current state with textile waste and its waste management options in the country.
Project of Automation of Material Flows Between the Production Process and Dispatch

Analysis of material and economic flows in the selected region
VOVSOVÁ, Petra
The aim of the thesis is to analyse the material and economic flows in the selected region and to suggest possible measures to improve the current situation. The paper focuses on the South Bohemian Region. Per Regulation (EU) No 70/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 January 2012 on statistical reporting, undertakings must communicate the transport data to the relevant organizations. Unfortunately, the economic data from the field of material flows is nowhere accurately reported, so only selected indicators that characterize the relevant economic flows were used. Thanks to the data obtained, an existing picture of material and economic flows in the selected area was obtained. Then, a specific flow analysis of one selected material was conducted through production, distribution and sales. Subsequently, it was evaluated whether the results of this selected product correspond to the results of the statistical reports. The last part was the SDA analysis to determine the impact of material flow on population development, social wealth and technological progress. Based on the results of individual analyses, measures have been proposed to improve the current situation.
Economic Characteristics of Business Organisations with Utilization of SCM
Vašková, Petra ; Urbánek, Jiří (referee) ; Sodomka, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Antonín (referee) ; Jurová, Marie (advisor)
This dissertation work is focused on issues related to a purchasing process in business subjects. It examines issues related to an evaluation of suppliers for a particular order. It also deals with issues within supplier-purchaser relationship, its creation and management through the SCM - Supply Chain Management. The topic of this thesis is very progressive as the selection and the evaluation of the suppliers is a very important factor in the terms of purchase and purchase expenses. A good management of the supplier-purchaser relationship can save expenses to business subjects. The elaboration of this dissertation thesis used not just theoretical findings acquired from the Czech and international literature, but also findings from surveys. The primary survey was carried out through the quantitative research, in particular research questionnaires. The findings from the primary survey were evaluated through the application Microsoft Excel and UNISTAT ® Statistical Package Version 5.6.06 Light. The acquired results were used to define the most important factors, which affect an evaluation of suppliers as well as an evaluation of the SCM in companies and data about purchases in companies. In addition the findings from the research questionnaires helped to evaluate the appointed hypothesis of the dissertation thesis. A partial outcome of the dissertation thesis is the proposal of the methodology of the evaluation of new and current suppliers including the weighting of individual evaluation parameters. For a common suppliers’ evaluation, an evaluation frequency is set by the importance of supplied material. Additionally, it methodologically describes how to evaluate supplier in time for day-to-day supply and for one-off supply. An additional partial outcome is the proposal of the methodology for an evaluation of a level of the SCM. The conclusion of the dissertation thesis is dedicated to the summary of findings, discussion of preconditions for implementation of the proposed methodology to real situations and possibilities of an additional scientist work in appropriately related subjects.
