Hošťálková, Tereza ; Melzochová, Jitka (advisor) ; Mirvald, Michal (referee)
This work deals with analysis of determinants affecting sales of spa facility of Teplice nad Bečvou between years 2008 and 2012 and determining how recommendations of patients for spa medical treatment affect its sales. Using logical reasoning we can assume that increase of recommendations will also cause increasing of sales. In the theoretical part, the reform of public health care and its expected influence on financing spa care is elaborated. Empirical analysis is based on dates, which contain 60 observations overall. Using regression, the crucial finding of this study is that increasing of recommendations of patients by a unit (=one suggested patient) leads to decreasing of sales by 0,051%. The amount of sales was applied to December and the result showed that the sales are higher throughout the year than in December, excluding January, where sales are lower.
Spa care in the system of public health insurance
HNÁTEK, Martin
The theoretical part of the work defines spa as a treatment method, which is aims at improving physical and mental health with the help of natural healing sources. The study further describes the history of spa industry in our country as far as its origins in the final stages of the Middle Ages, continuing with its gradual development crowned in the 18th and 19th century. The chapter concludes with a short insight into the development of spa industry after the year 1989 and gives some hints on its future direction. The next chapter delineates the position of Czech spa industry in the central European region. Here the reader can also find description of the spa network in the Czech Republic with all 35 spa sites. Further on, the characteristics of natural healing sources and their use is described. The effective legislation and the Regulation No. 267/2012 Coll. is discussed as well, in particular, with regard to the indication list for spa therapy and rehabilitation procedures for adults, children, and adolescents. The chapter contains a general description of the indication list, an overview of the indication groups, and legislative changes which the new legislation brings into the existing practice. Legislation relevant to the delivery of spa treatment gets described further on. In relation to this, the study also deals with the process of treatment recommendation and the approval of the recommendation. The chapter also contains the description of basic types of spa care. The last chapter of the theoretical part is dedicated to the statistics of spa care and the health care system. In the practical part of the report, the aims of the work are set and the research questions are formulated: 1) Does spa treatment reduce the cost of medication in patients suffering from chronic diseases of the musculoskeletal system during the year following the treatment? 2) Did the delivery of spa care lead to a decrease of expenses related to outpatient rehabilitation in patients suffering from chronic diseases of the musculoskeletal system during the year following the treatment? The research questions were addressed by a mixed type of research. Secondary data analysis was used as a research technique. Data about patients, who were subject to spa treatment first in 2011 and who are members of the indication group VII ? chronic diseases of the musculoskeletal system ? more precisely with the diagnoses of degenerative disease of hip and knee joints. The frequency and the extent of medication, related to the treatment of the disease and the frequency of the outpatient rehabilitation care were monitored in these patients. The deciding period, in which the above mentioned parameters were monitored, was twelve months before the spa treatment and twelve months after the spa treatment was conducted. The results were determined based on statistical evaluation of data obtained by secondary data analysis. The results state that there was a significant decrease in expenses for outpatient rehabilitation care and medication in both of the monitored groups (degenerative disease of hip joints and degenerative disease of knee joints). The only exception is that the cost of subsequent medication for gonarthrosis patients dropped by only 1.3 %. The answer to the first research question remains ambiguous. The cost of treatment in coxarthrosis patients dropped dramatically, whereas the treatment expenditure in gonarthrosis patients remained virtually similar. The answer to the second research question is definitively positive. In both of the monitored groups the costs for outpatient rehabilitation care was reduced significantly. As a result, it can be postulated that the research proved the positive impact of spa care on patients? state of health. This impact is demonstrated by the decrease in health care services provided after the spa treatment period, which results in the overall decrease of costs.
Clients´ Perception of Spa Services in Aurora Spa
KROČÁK, Ladislav
An importance of spa services is especially in the medical treatment, but their economic significance is also very substantial. It significantly affects investment activities and an employment and it contributes to a regional development. Aurora Spa in Třeboň specializes in treating of musculoskeletal disorders, rheumatic diseases, post-traumatic and post-operative conditions and overall recondition of the body. Spa services in Třeboň have been, since a long time ago, associated with a natural healing source, which is abundant in this locality ? a boggy soil. Aurora Spa is not determined only for ill clients, but it is frequently visited by healthy people who undergo reconditioning and relaxation stays. The current trend heads toward to the fact that in the future the spa care covered from the public health insurance, will be in some way limited and clients will have to pay either a part or the entire treatment from their own financial funds. For this reason it is necessary to concentrate with spa service operators on a great clients´ satisfaction with their spa stay, so that they would return to the spa facility. Since I have worked for five years in the area of providing of the treatment services, I followed my bachelor thesis ?Clients´ satisfaction with spa services? by this diploma thesis, in order to re-map the clients´ satisfaction with services provided in above mentioned spa. I wanted to find out whether clients´ attitudes to the provided services had significantly changed from the research in 2009 year in my bachelor thesis. I used for the research the same questionnaire as in the research in 2009 year. 220 respondents were chosen for the research in the period of September 2011; 110 respondents had their stay covered by some of health insurance companies, either in a form of a complex or a contributory spa care and 110 respondents paid their treatment stay from their own funds as private payers. I supposed that men would be more satisfied than women and clients to whom some of the health insurance companies paid the stay, would be more satisfied than clients paying the stay from their own funds. After processing the data, there were not found out any significant differences in the satisfaction between these groups of respondents and in comparison with the research in the bachelor thesis from 2009 year there were not apparent any significant variations in the clients´ satisfaction with the services provided, which confirms, that the spa services in Aurora Spa are still on a very high level. Results of this diploma thesis can be used by employees of Aurora Spa to enhance the quality of provided spa service in all areas and to improve staff access to their clients.

Clients´ satisfaction with spa services
KROČÁK, Ladislav
Currently, in the competitive environment, it is necessary to look at the possibility to focus on the spa treatment not only on its medical component part, but as well as on psychological and social component parts. Clients visiting spa facilities should leave the spa, after a completion of their treatment, as far as possible satisfied with all spa services provided; both curative ones and a catering, accommodation, leisure and with an overall approach of the staff to the client at all. Because of the fact, that I have been working in the Spa Aurora in the town of Třeboň already for four years in the field of medical services, I decided to process the bachelor thesis on the topic ``Clients´ satisfaction with spa services{\crq}q and to find out, how much the clients are satisfied with services provided just in the designated spa. Data were investigated through a questionnaire survey at clients of Spa Aurora in Třeboň during the month of November, 2009. Company questionnaires were used for the research. They were handed in total of 280 of them, of which 140 to clients, whose stay was covered by some of the health insurance companies of the Czech Republic (a complex or subsidized spa treatment) and 140 to clients, who paid the stay themselves from their own financial resources. Questionnaires were handed in to clients personally by spa employees and after their completion by respondents they were collected again by the spa employees. I thought, in hypotheses that men will be more satisfied with the spa services than women and that clients whose stay was covered by some of the health insurance companies will be more satisfied with the spa services than the clients paying the stay from their own financial resources. After carrying out the research by the questionnaire survey, the declared hypotheses were refuted, because there were no gender differences and no differences among insured and private patients in the satisfaction with the spa services. This fact indicates that the services provided in Spa Aurora reach a satisfactory level and a majority of clients departs satisfied with the treatment. The result of the bachelor thesis can be used by Spa Aurora employees to improve the provided services and their approach to the client.
