Comparison of the Czech and Canadian Automobile Insurance System

The thesis compares automobile insurance system in the Czech Republic with that of the province of Alberta, Canada. Automobile insurance system represents the framework consisting of third party liability coverage and first party coverages regardless of how many policies in total it is required to arrange. The first part of the thesis introduces the readers into automobile insurance system in the Czech Republic, the second part deals with the system being in existence in Alberta, Canada. The primary conclusion coming out of the thesis is the definition and explanation of the distinctions between the two systems, the consideration of implementing some components of the Canadian system into the Czech system (and conversely) is discussed afterwards.
Experience with exercising the new Health Insurance Act.

The Bachelor's work is called "Experience of the application of the Act on Health Insurance". The work describes targets and principles, concept and structure of the new Act on Health Insurance. A separate part deals with health insurance benefits, obligations of employers, insured persons and social security authorities. For comparison the work presents the health insurance system before the new enforceable health insurance legal regulations came into force, i.e. before 31st December 2008. The aim of the work is to describe experience of the application of the new Act on Health Insurance, its pros and cons from the perspective of insured persons, employers and employees of social security authorities; to find out if the reduction of expenses for health insurance benefits was achieved and the insured persons are better motivated to reduce their sickness leave. To find out given problems I choose a qualitative research, inquiry method, semi-standardized discussion technique and document analysis method, secondary data analysis technique. Discussions were held with 12 respondents from insured persons, employers and employees of social security authorities. The research shows that after the new Act on Health Insurance took effect the expenses for health insurance benefits have decreased and the insured persons have been motivated to decrease their temporary sickness leave. A majority of the respondents is convinced of the increased administrative burden of the new system. Within the performed research were acquired opinions of insured persons, employers and employees of social security authorities which can serve as a topic of a potential discussion about an amendment of the Act on Health Insurance.
Level on public knowledge concerning of helth insurence policy

Public health insurance is an important part of the Czech health system. In the Czech Republic the model of national health insurance is administered using system of several insurance companies. The main target of these companies is to collect insurance rate from the payers and to cover health care provided to the insuree. The aim of this work is to map and assess professional and non - professional public knowledge of the system of the public health insurance. Three goals were set within the work. The first one was to find out the level of the professional public knowledge of the public health insurance. The second one was to find out the level of the non - professional public knowledge of the public health insurance. The third one was to compare both groups knowledge of the public health insurance. To realize the above mentioned aims three hypotheses were set. Hypothesis No.1: Most of the professional public is informed about the valid legal arrangement of the public health insurance. Hypothesis No. 2: Most of the non -professional public is informed about the valid legal arrangement of the public health insurance. Hypothesis No. 3: There is no difference between the professional and non - professional public knowledge of the valid legal arrangement of the public health insurance. To prove the set hypotheses the form of quantitative research was used. The technique of questionnaire was used for data collecting. For practical part the identical questionnaire for both professional and non - professional public was used. The research group of the questionnaire investigation was formed by respondents living and working in České Budějovice. The professional public within the research work was formed by people who work or worked in the health or social sphere. The final research group was formed by 200 respondents of professional and 200 respondents of non - professional public. The target of the thesis and partial aims were accomplished. The first two hypotheses were proved. The third one was not proved by the research work. It has been investigated what areas is professional and non - professional public most or less informed in. The results of the research work may be used for publication in the professional journals.
Life Insurance as a Part of Staff Benefits in a Firm

This thesis attends to the valuation of life insurance as an instrument that affects the economy of a chosen firm. Firstly, it attends to the introduction to system of insurance. Then recount insurance, especially life insurance, its advantage and disadvantage. Subsequently it includes a risk analysis and principles of risk elimination by the insurance. The practical part is focused on life insurance products of specific insurance company, on the valuation of life insurance usage in chosen firm and on the usage of life insurance as the instrument that affects the economy of a chosen firm.
Legal regulation of conclusion and termination of insurance contracts

The thesis deals with the legislation process of concluding insurance contracts and the subsequent termination of insurance. The work stems from the Insurance Contract Act and other legislation in the area of insurance. There are also mentioned some selected decisions of the Supreme Court of the Czech Republic. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the issue and also to assess the status of current legal regulation.
