The Influence of the Economic Cycle on the Development of Insurance in Czech Republic and Germany

This thesis analyzes the impact of the economic cycle on the insurance market in the Czech Republic and Germany and partly also it compares this markets. In the first part of thesis is describes the most important basis, sets out specific goals and defines the basic terms of insurance and macroeconomics, namely the issue of the economic cycle and GDP. Furthermore, on the basis of statistical data described the development of the Czech insurance market and partly German insurance market and in certain points performs comparison of Czech Republic and Germany. Finally, the thesis analyzes insurance and factors affecting it. Work has focused primarily on exploring insurance depending on the development of gross domestic product in both the Czech Republic and Germany.

Filtration of time series

Thesis is aimed at describing the concepts and basic principles in the economy in gross domestic product. Furthermore it deals with the description of time series, their types, characteristics and the basic classification. A decomposition of time series into thein components is indicated. Another part is a basic description of the most commonly used economic filters - Hodrick-Prescott and Baxter-King. The Christiano-Fitzgerald and frequency-selective filter for short length time series have been practically implemented in MATLAB. The rest of the thesis deals with the application of above mentioned filters to data of Czech Republic, European Union, USA and selected EU countries. Moreover, the correlation between spectral components of the data for selected countries is investigated. KEYWORDS

Mechanisms of the European Union for solving the balance of payments issues (case studies of Latvia, Hungary and Romania)

The aim of this bachelor work is to explain and to describe the system of financial assistance of the European Union and other international financial institutions -- balance of payments assistance -- and its influence on the macroeconomic situation of the particular countries. The theoretical part is devoted to the structure of the balance of payments, detailed in the current account and the financial account, balancing the current account deficit, enlisting the mid-term financial loan in the balance of payments and to the structure of "balance of payments assistance". The aim of the practical part is to assess reasons (on the basis of the macroeconomics analysis) which led selected countries to receive mid-term financial loan from international financial institutions, to describe the conditions under which it was accepted and to describe their economic development after they received the financial aid.

Development assistance of the Slovak Republic

The main purpose of my thesis is to describe the development assistance in general, its functioning in the Slovak Republic and also the role of the Slovak Republic in the world of the development assistance. My work is divided into four main chapters. The first one explains the term of development assistance, concept of historical events and it briefly describes the major global players in the development assistance. The second chapter focuses on the functioning of the development assistance in the Slovak Republic, as well as its financing, management and institutions dealing with such assistance. The third chapter sets out priority sectors and the countries into which the development assistance is aimed to. The last chapter outlines the pros and cons of providing such assistance and there are also expressed my opinions and suggestions of its further possible directions.
