Habitat preferences of Eurasian Skylark (\kur{Alauda arvensis})
DUFEK, Luboš
We made a survey in habitat preferences of Eurasian Skylark (Alauda arvensis) in this bachelor thesis. We were surveying its abundance in three habitats: Českobudějovicko, Znojemsko and Žďársko. The surveying began at the end of March 2008 and ended at the beginning of June 2008. We made 54 points in each habitat in which we wrote elevation, GPS coordinates, the speed of wind, temperature and dominant vegetation. We determined its habitat preferences both by subjective observation and by interaction with classes CORINE Land Cover with usage of GIS.
Habitat preferences of amphibians in Europe and abroad.
BLAŽKOVÁ, Zuzana
I have examined the current state of knowledge on the causes of worldwide amphibian declines, ephasizing their complexity. Furthemore I have revised the methodology of amphibian surveys and amphibian conservation status with implications for future work and improvement.
The influence of butterfly life history traits on their resource use
PAVLÍKOVÁ, Anežka
I studied resource based habitat classification approach on different taxonomical and ecological group of butterflies and moths. I examine whether the RCS strategy of host plant and biotope influenced position of Lepidopteran species in ordination space.
The selected aspects of urban carnivore ecology
GRAUSAMOVÁ, Lucie
The first part of this thesis is a literature review on the topic. The other part is focused on habitat preferences of carnivores in urban habitat. By using the scent-station method, distribution and habitat preferences of mammalian predators in České Budějovice were examined.
Fragmentation and mammalian carnivores in forest habitats: variables which affect carnivores distribution and habitat choice
PAVLUVČÍK, Petr
The human use of landscape causes fragmentation and loss of original habitats. Different species vary in their sensitivity to habitat loss. Especially carnivores can be more sensitive to decrease of their habitat because of lower abundance of their prey. On the other hand several opportunistic carnivores can profit in human modified habitats. This study was carried out in the České Budějovice basin, Czech Republic during the years 2008 and 2009 and the aim of this study was to determine carnivore{\crq}s habitat preferences in the fragmented landscape. During these two years were seven carnivore species monitored in forest patches by using scent stations. Records of this monitoring were compared with physiognomy of these patches and structure of surrounding landscape.
Habitat requirements of two endangered lycaenid butterflies \kur{Polyommatus damon} and \kur{Polyommatus thersites} sharing an identical host plant
ŠLANCAROVÁ, Jana
The lycaenid butterflies Polyommatus damon and Polyommatus thersites share identical xerophilous localities and develop on the same host plants, Onobrychis spp. This thesis compares habitat requirements and life history patterns of the two species, trying to disclose factors responsible for their differing conservation status.
