Family, family upbringing, family functions, malfunctions and its impact on child?s development.

The theoretical part of the present bachelor thesis deals with the characteristics of a family, its development, types and functions as well as with upbringing, system of rules and the impact of the upbringing on child?s development. Rights of the child, fundamental bills and the Convention on the Rights of the Child are also commented upon. In the methodological part of the thesis, individual methods and strategies of the empirical part of the work are described as well as the technique of selection of sample families and the criteria of categorizing of the families into individual groups. The empirical part of the thesis includes an analysis of the SPOD official documents. Individual instances of functional, problematic, dysfunctional and afunctional families are described. More specifically, the thesis comments upon the development of each such family, its type, system of rules and their type , fulfilment of basic functions, completeness of the family and its impact on the development and behaviour of the children. In the appendix, numbers of the SPOD curatorial files from the years 2003 ? 20011 in bar charts are attached for comparison as well as the number of the minors with upbringing issues from the years 2003 ? 2011 and a pie chart overview of the number of children and minors with upbringing issues. Also attached are four tables summarizing individual above mentioned families, their functions, types, system of rules they use and their impact on the child behaviour and development.
Parental Separation and Its Impact on Adolescent Children

The focus of this bachelor thesis is on parental separation and divorce and their impact on adolescent children. Based on literature research, the theoretical part defines the basic terms related to the current family and cohabitation issues. It also focuses on the possibilities of child upbringing (sole custody, shared custody, joint custody). The practical part presents the findings about how children experience their parents? separation, whether and how parents talk to their children about their situation, how the decision about possible maternal or paternal custody is reached and what impact parental divorce or separation has on their children.
Child as a victim of domestic violence

Domestic violence is currently seen as a significant social problem; it is a form of violence that is widespread throughout the world, in all cultures and all social strata. Domestic violence is usually directed against women, to a lesser extent also against men or senior citizens. Children living in families at risk of domestic violence should be seen as indirect victims of domestic violence too. Domestic violence does not threaten the victims only, but also children who are present in violent incidents between the parents. This thesis, which is focused on children as victims of domestic violence, is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part explained the basic concepts in this field. In the beginning, it was important to highlight the importance of family, its essential functions and vital role in meeting the needs of all its members. Another section explains the definitions of domestic violence, the key features of family violence, its types and forms, as well as victims of domestic violence are dealt with. In connection with the focus on the child as a victim of domestic violence, the CAN syndrome is explained as an issue of maltreated, neglected and abused children. Finally, is described the possible impact of the presence of domestic violence in the family on the development and psychology of the child. The thesis also summarizes the possibility of legal protection for persons at risk of domestic violence, including interventions and assistance to victims. The practical part of the thesis processes the results obtained by quantitative research, both from the statistics of the Intervention Centre for Help to the Victims of Domestic Violence at the Diocesan Charity in České Budějovice and the data obtained from a questionnaire sent to institutions, at municipal authorities of municipalities with extended powers, for the social and legal protection of children. The objective was to find out whether domestic violence occurs mainly in families with children and what the effect of domestic violence in the family is on the child?s mental development. The region concerned was South Bohemia. Based on the data obtained, the following information was found: the total number of households with domestic violence in which minors were present, the total number of threatened children, and the impact of violence among adult household members present on the psyche of children.

Vaněčková This work deals with domestic violence in family and influence of domestic violence to the evolution and behavior of children growing up in these families. The theoretical part describes the family, its functions and types. An analysis of domestic violence as a socio-pathological phenomenon and its impact on the children present. The practical part contains an analysis of official documents kept by the Department of social and legal protection of children and youth of the Municipality of Prachatice, the prevalence of domestic violence in families living in its scope. Families with domestic violence incidents are classified according to the established typology, found a form of violence and its effects on behavior, possibly on child development.

Family is seen as an environment where relationships are formed on the basis of communication. The theoretical part discusses family from system of closer family circle till the inclusion of families to society. Below deal with from the functions of family, comparing methods and styles in the education of children, describes the functional and dysfunctional families, the planning functions of the family, describes the impact of divorce on individual family members. The practical part of using the questionnaire compares the sight of children and parents on the daily functioning of family, identifies differences in the understanding of common family situations as a leisure time of children, family rules, education of children, sharing the functioning of the family as a whole, etc.

This work contains theoretical and practical part.. Theoretical part deals with the problems of family. It thinks about the meaning of the conception of a family, presents individual functions of a family and above all defines in more details and deeply mulls over changes, through which is family recently passing. Practical part is based on a quantitativ research, which went ahead in a form of questionary by respondents in the age between 18 and 40. This research had a task to find out the attitudes and oppinions of young people with mentionent age, which relate in the first place to institution of marriage, breeding children in marriaged couples, unmarriaged couples, homosexual couples and the problems of devorces. It had also a task to find out, if the statistical data, presented in a teoretical part, corresponde to the data, ascertained through this research.
