The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and other factors on road traffic safety in the Czech Republic
Schusterová, Josefína ; Chytilová, Julie (advisor) ; Zeynalova, Olesia (referee)
This thesis focuses primarily on determining the potential effect of Covid-19 on road traffic safety in the Czech Republic, measured by the daily volume of traffic collisions. The additional incorporation of weather and seasonal fac- tors contributes to the complexity and uniqueness of this work. Although it is possible to Ąnd relevant foreign literature on the relationship between the pandemic and traffic accidents, this phenomenon has not been widely studied in the Czech Republic. The hypotheses were tested by applying the Ordinary Least Squares es- timation on time series data. The frequency of traffic accidents signiĄcantly decreased with the presence of Covid-19 disease, especially during the state lockdown periods. A similar pattern was observed by the remaining analysed categories of collisions, except for those with alcohol and drugs detected by the offender, which were positively inĆuenced by the pandemic. The wind is the only statistically insigniĄcant weather variable in our analysis, and the state holidays all turn out to signiĄcantly affect the number of traffic accidents. Over- all, the thesis contributes to the revelation of traffic trends during the Covid-19 disease and helps to predict the traffic safety situation in a possible future state of emergency of a similar kind.
External causes of death - regional differences and context in districts of CZ
Spilková, Zuzana ; Daňková, Šárka (advisor) ; Mazouch, Petr (referee)
This diploma thesis analyzes mortality from external causes in the region of CZ between 2014 and 2018. The main focus is on external causes of death as a group, suicide rates, and mortality from traffic accidents. Another aim of this thesis is, besides the description of mortality from external causes, to identify regional correlation and differences in mortality from external causes and selected causes of death (suicides and traffic accidents). This study uses correlation, factor, and cluster analysis. Because of the low numbers of deaths in the case of women (in all dependent variables), the study analyzes mortality from both sexes together. Based on created factors clusters of regions are developed. Results show the difference between regions in CZ in mortality external causes. Regions also vary in suicide mortality rates and traffic accident mortality rates. Independent variables that correlate with mortality from external causes vary for external causes as a group, for suicides, and for mortality from traffic accidents. Keywords: external causes of death, suicides, traffic accidents, factor analysis, cluster analysis

The most common social pathologigal traits of perpetrators of traffic accidents and their causes (based on the probes into their psyche in the book Fatal meetings by K. Havlík)
BLECHOVÁ, Aneta
The aim of this thesis is to clear up and acquiant with psychological profile of failing drivers. There are dozer of drivers failing in these days, although we can suppose that we are not involved in this topic. But contrariwise, we are a part of this problematics as well, we could not be direct offenders of accidents or drivers with socially-pathological phenomenons, but we can be thein victims as well. That is why it is really important to pay attention to this problematics and to be interested in it and try to prevent it. So the aim of the thesis was to find out, what are the most usual phenomenonsof offenders of accidents, what are the causes of these phenomenons, where and in which situations are they springing up thein beginnings, that leads us to accidents afterwards. In kontent of thesis is analysis of risk factors in road traffic as well. The last charter is focused on preventive steps leading to limitation of accidents. The book by Karel Havlík "Osudová střetnutí" was a part of there search complex just as an interview with traffic psychologist. I have dividend this interview into eight questions, that were fulfilling theoretical problematics in the first part. I have found out by processing of the interview and by processing of the book "Osudová střetnutí" that usual socially-pathological phenomenons were the phenomenons, that have aggressive features in thein elements, from which it is springing up much more. On the contrary people with personality disorders are usually offenders of accidents as well. I have reached the conclusion that each human might chase anything in himself and in his behaving either in attitude to the others, but it is needed a lot of effort and persistence.

Doležalová, Lucie ; Bartuška, Ladislav (referee) ; Schmeidler, Karel (advisor)
My thesis is engaged in increasing safety of pedestrians in urban traffic. My work analyses cases of accidents in a specific area and attitudes and experiences of pedestrians as well as local inhabitants. The aim of my work is to map an accident rate – a case study and formation of applicable measures in the town Třeboň, thus in an urban area. The first part of my work is engaged in theory, which is divided in used proper terminology in accordance with the law followed by a universal view of issues of traffic and their safety. The empirical part of my work then examines analysis of dangerous places in a selected locality. These places were chosen on the base on a questionnaire survey among local residents with the goal to point out these dangerous places by actual traffic accidents in the town Třeboň. It is necessary to determine applicable measures in dangerous places from particular traffic accidents and thus to help increasing safety of pedestrians in a given place. Because of acquisition of necessary data, analysis of documents, a questionnaire survey and subsequent evaluation of results is used in my work. In conclusion I evaluated results and created a draft measure.
Přežiješ mládí? - Analysis of TV programme for youth
Voslář, Václav ; Jirků, Jan (advisor) ; Kocourková, Lucie (referee)
The topic of this bachelor's thesis is an analysis of a TV show 'Přežiješ mládí?'. The main tool to achieve this goal is semiotic analysis, as a method suitable for analysing any audiovisual content. The show is educational and is primarily aimed at young people between approximately 18 and 24 years of age. Aside from semiotic analysis the thesis provides a brief summary of various facts about the effects of media on society, its influence on young people, focusing on the influence of television, and educational potential of media, specifically considering young generation. The TV show 'Přežiješ mládí?' is dealing with road traffic accidents and with common failures of young people in traffic. One part of the thesis therefore also examines the attitude of the young to road traffic safety and the possibilities of improving this attitude. After this theoretical part, a methodological framework follows, that introduces characteristics of semiotic analysis and point out its specific aspects and features used for the analysis in this case. The third part of the thesis is the analysis itself.
