Chemical Nomenclature: a Comparison of Czech a Spanish System from Linguistic Point of View
TRAPPOVÁ, Karolína
The main aim of this work is to compare differences in Czech and Spanish chemistry nomenclature focusing on word formation. The Czech system of nomenclature of inorganic chemistry, which is known for its use of suffixes to distinguish individual compounds, is one of the best systems in the whole world. Naturally these specific rules cannot be used in all languages because of grammatical differences between languages. For that matter Spanish language also has its own chemistry nomenclature, known as traditional, which also works with specific suffixes, but it has a lot of deficiencies. For this reason, this work describes both of these systems of inorganic chemistry to point out the advantages of principles of the Czech system. These days a lot of countries are using nomenclatures which were recommended by the organisation IUPAC, but the system of Czech nomenclature has worked without any changes since the Nineteenth Century.
Laboratory preparation of different colored nickel compounds
Rybárik, Jan ; Kábelová, Božena (referee) ; Pilátová, Ivana (advisor)
A bachelor thesis are focused on possibilities of laboratory preparation of variously colored nickel compounds. The theoretical part describes chemical and physical properties of nickel and its compounds, which are potential compounds in series of three consecutive nickle compounds. Results of the experimental part are focused on the best methods of preparing the nickel compounds.
Nickel and its compounds
Pařízek, Ladislav ; Kábelová, Božena (referee) ; Pilátová, Ivana (advisor)
The focus of the bachelor’s thesis is searching of possible synthesis of selected compounds of the nickel. In the theoretic part are described chemical and physical properties of nickel and its compounds, which are connected with synthesis of three following compounds of nickel. The optimal procedure of preparation of nickel compounds was found in the experimental part of the bachelor.
Inorganic Nomenclature E-learning Study Materials Processing
Zubek, Piotr ; Pilátová, Ivana (referee) ; Richtera, Lukáš (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor's thesis is e-learning and the creation of teaching material Nomenclature of Inorganic Chemistry. The theoretical part is dealing with the definitions of e-learning, its development and modern trends in this dynamic sector of education. The theoretical part contains the current state of Web search in the area of teaching Czech inorganic nomenclature. Is also briefly presented Adobe Flash, which was created educational applications Nomenclature of Inorganic Chemistry. The practical part presents the results of a questionnaire with a sample of 451 students Faculty of Chemistry at Brno University of Technology. The thesis also includes analysis of students mistakes. End of the practical part is dedicated to the description of learning material, which is primarily designed as a supplement for teaching the nomenclature of inorganic chemistry at the chemical faculty in Brno.
Manganese and its compounds
Matláková, Jana ; Kábelová, Božena (referee) ; Pilátová, Ivana (advisor)
The focus of the bachelor’s thesis is searching of possible synthesis of selected compounds of the manganese. In the theoretic part are described chemical and physical properties of compounds, these compounds are connected with synthesis of three following compounds of manganese. The optimal procedure of preparation of manganese compounds was found in the experimental part of the bachelor.
Modification of laboratory waste water containing lead
Mončeková, Miroslava ; Kábelová, Božena (referee) ; Pilátová, Ivana (advisor)
The Bachelor Thesis deals with the treatment of laboratory waste water containing lead. The thesis examines the lead and its compounds in waste water from an inorganic laboratory and tries to find a suitable way of stating the lead concentration and its follow-up reduction. The advantages and disadvantages of various substances used in precipitation of lead in waste water are considered. In conclusion the thesis emphasizes the economic effectiveness of the treatment of liquid waste into a solid waste.
Zinc and its compounds
Štefka, Michal ; Kábelová, Božena (referee) ; Pilátová, Ivana (advisor)
The aim of the degree work is the preparation of three consecutive zinc compounds. The theoretical part of the work deals with the most common physical properties of some inorganic compounds of this element. These are especially those compounds that are prepared as intermediates or products in accordance with the instructions set out in the Annex to this degree work. In the experimental part is on the basis of that training described the actual behavior of zinc compared to that provided by general behavior contained in the books and there are presented procedures best saited to the conditions of preparation of individua compounds.
