The position of the Visegrad countries in the European Union

The aim of this paper is to identify common and differing opinions of the governments of the Visegrad countries and introducing the character of their cooperation in case of convergence of interests. The paper seeks to answer the following research question: In what areas of current European policy are the interests of the Visegrad countries similar and in which do they differ? Do Visegrad countries cooperate in case their interests are similar? What is the current situation in the V4 countries and what are the prospects for the adoption of a common currency?
Structural funds and Cohesion fund in Visegrad countries

The thesis introduces European regional policy which provides the framework for policy of economic, social and territorial cohesion. It characterizes its objectives and financial instruments. The second part of the thesis is focused on Visegrad group in the central European region. The most important chapter deals with drawing money from structural funds and its allocation in the regions in each V4 country. The countries are also compared according to selected criteria. Final part of the thesis presents the future of the EU cohesion policy.
External Economic Balance of Visegrad Countries 2008 – 2010

Diploma thesis deals with the development of external economic balance (particularly balance of payments) of Visegrad Countries in the years 2008-2010. The first chapter introduces the theory of the external economic balance. The second chapter describes the development of balance of payments of of Visegrad Countries in the years 2008-2010, common elements and differences between particular countries, basic trends, and the development during the given period of time.
Inflation targeting in the Czech Republic compared with the Visegrad countries

This thesis is an analysis of inflation in the Czech Republic and the success of the Czech monetary policy compared with inflation targeting in the Visegrad countries. In the first part, I focused on the development of central banking and the role of central banks, the main actors of monetary policy, in relation to inflation. A common feature of the Visegrad Four is a monetary policy based on inflation targeting. The prediction of inflation compared with its actual development in a period of ten years is subject to the practical part, which is supple-mented by a wide range of graphs and tables that I have mainly compiled from data available on the websites of central banks of individual countries and Eurostat, the European Union statistical office.
Development of Foreign Direct Investment in Visegrad Countries after Eastern Enlargement of the EU - geographical and structural trends

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) are regarded as the most effective form of international capital flows. The term FDI is often used in conjunction with globalisation, liberalisation and internacionalisation of the world economy. This paper deals with analysis of development of FDI in Visegrad countries (V4) after eastern enlargement of the EU, especially development of geographical and structural trends. The main analysis comes out of an analysis of business environment in individual Visegrad countries. Last but not least, the paper deals with FDI effects concerning not only positive aspects of FDI but also negative aspects connected with the FDI inflows in V4 which are arising currently as a consequence of global financial and economic crisis.
