An Experimental Research of Sanding in Wheel/Rail Contact
Machatka, Martin ; Hruška, Marek (referee) ; Omasta, Milan (advisor)
Presented master's thesis is focused on the experimental research of the sanding parameters in order to improve adhesion in the contact between wheel and rail. Sanding is the application of the sanding material directly in the wheel/rail contact. It is still common, most effective and traditional way how to deal with low adhesion problem, which is mainly caused by environmental contaminants. Research is important for the better understanding of the sanding process and also provides data, which are necessary for it's optimization and efficiency improvement. Newly developed twin-disc machine was used to carry out the presented experimental research. The influence of common contaminants on the adhesion is investigated, considering various operating parameters. Different amount of the applied sand is used to increase adhesion in the contaminated contact at various slip and rolling speed. Results show, that there is the amount of the sand, from which no significant adhesion increase occur. Obtained findings and the results presented in this thesis will be used to optimize sanding system, which will contribute to reduce cost associated with sanding and low adhesion.
Design of Experimental Stand for the Study of Railway Vehicles Sanding
Galas, Radovan ; Hruška, Marek (referee) ; Šperka, Petr (advisor)
Presented master’s thesis describes the design and the implementation of an experimental device used for the study of tribological aspects of wheel-rail contact. In this work, the reader will first learn the fundamentals such as adhesion, slip, traction curve, etc. Subsequently, the work is describing devices that are used for the study of wheel-rail contact around the world. This section is followed by the author proposed solution. The result is a twin disc device in the scale of 1:3. The device allows determining traction characteristics for different environmental conditions (presence of water, sand and oil in contact for different temperatures) and various operating parameters (contact pressure and speed). A part of this work are also the validation experiments and complete design documentation.
Conceptual design of dosing system for sand
Jíša, Martin ; Omasta, Milan (referee) ; Smejkal, David (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on conceptual design of a dosing system for sand in railway use. At the beginning after the introduction into the problematics, there is adetailed research of competitive devices currently on the market followed by a detailed analysis of their functions. Summary of all requirements (functional and technological) is made. Mechanical design of the current doser and two new design alternations are made. Those alternations are chosen to be the optimal solution for the new doser.
Tribological aspects of rail vehicle sanding systems
Ilčík, Jindřich ; Šperka, Petr (referee) ; Hartl, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this work is to gather available information on the issue of tribological aspects of rail vehicle sanding sanding systems. The work deals with the use of sanding systems, their effect on change in terms of adhesion and surface structure of railway wheel / rail.
Design of rail vehicle sanding systems
Balounová, Hana ; Šperka, Petr (referee) ; Hartl, Martin (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with creating an overview of sanding systems, which are available on the marketplace in terms of their construction. Sanding devices are used in rail transport to incerase the adhesion during braking and moving off in bad weather condition. The thesis inculdes findings of testing influences of construction on the quality of sanding, list of companies producing sanders and their products and defining the future development trends.
Design of sand blasting machine modification
Klár, Pavel ; Fuis, Vladimír (referee) ; Krejsa, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis is focused on design and implementation of structural adjustment of sandblasting machine with regard to the requirements of resolution. The first part consist of short study describes a blasting technology and various types of blasting machines. Second part – practical part consists of problem analysis and setting goals to be achieved. The main goal of the design is to not influence the machine and to limit presence of the operators by modification in the actual process of sanding. There is also detailed design of solution’s proposal which fulfills the specified goals and is supported by calculations. Descibed design was realized and preliminary results suggest that pre-defined goals are met.
