Diversity management in a multinational IT company

This thesis deals with the theme of diversity and its management, explains its significance and importance in today's dynamic times, historical development, legislative support, its benefits and costs to a company. It further describes the concept of gender, women's position in the labor market and the presence of women in the IT business. Thesis includes an analysis of diversity policies and strategies in multinational IT company and a research on this topic among Czech employees.

This thesis includes a theoretical background of the historical and biological nature to the Diversity management in organizations due to gender, as well as the controversy with the well-established bases of diversity management and equal opportunities. Thesis also contains a questionnaire survey on this topic conducted among respondents within the three selected organizations operating in the Czech republic.

The Bachelor`s Thesis is concerned with Diversity Management and its implementation in companies situated in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to at least partially answer the question, whether diversity of employees is managed in the Czech Republic, or not. Situation in companies had been monitored by personal dialogues with managers, personal observation and internet research. The findings based on this research are that neither of the chosen companies fully implemented Diversity Management and is successfully managing diversity of their employees.

The thesis is focused on diversity management in the Czech Republic. The author deals with diversity of economically active population in the Czech Republic and also, based on the screening of websites of selected companies, analyses the extent to which companies in the Czech Republic deal with diversity management in the context of personal marketing. Emphasis is placed on how the studied companies present their approaches to diversity and whether it is also used in individual job offers. The aim is to prove that in the Czech Republic, the implementation of diversity management is relevant and also to map the approaches of selected companies to use of diversity management in their personal marketing. In conclusion the author summarizes the results of the conducted screening and creates suggestions for companies which have decided to deal with diversity management.
