Solution for Deviation Analysis of Cost in a Manufacturing Company

At the very beginning of the diploma thesis, we introduce the reader to the issues of BI and controlling of manufacturing companies. Subsequently, we perform an analysis and evaluation of the current state of the selected manufacturing company in terms of variations in production. Then we use MSSQL server and SSAS to create a controlling model. The company will be able to unambiguously and quickly identify weaknesses in production and quickly eliminate them. Finally, we evaluate the real benefits of this project for the company.

This bachelor thesis is concerned with designing a database intended to streamline the activities taking place in the Rumburak s.r.o. guesthouse. The first part of the thesis presents the theoretical foundation required for tackling the problem. Following is an analysis of the processes involved in the current operations, pinpointing their problem points. The core part of the thesis focuses on the actual design comprised of a module for person management, booking and invoicing. The result of the work done on the thesis is a fully functional database that meets the requirements of the company.

It analyzes the current state of processes in the club and compares them with modern practice. It contains a description of all the functions of the application together with the economic evaluation of the project. It represents a complete solution because of the inefficient and outdated way of keeping the club database. It emphasizes the successful implementation of the application in the club practice.

The thesis compares the development time and performance of two types of Microsoft analytical models created in Visual Studio that are deployed on the local analytics servers and the Azure cloud server. Theoretical research will be summarizing business intelligence and data warehouses components, Microsoft tools for business intelligence realization and features using in-memory database technologies. The practical part introduces the AdventureWorks demonstration database,describes the implementation of both analytical models and compares both models with respect to the time-consuming development, performance and suitability of deployment.

Database design for connecting SAP as a data source for a Web application

The thesis deals with connecting SAP ERP system via local database system MS SQL Server using the tools SAP BI, data synchronization between systems and advanced usage of T-SQL language for preparing data for web applications and reports written in PHP. The thesis contains a brief overview of the SAP system and the possibility of connecting to the SAP system. The general principles of described solution can be used in conjunction with other systems and programming languages.
