Kopčíková, V. Tourism carrying capacity of Lednice-Valtice Area. Brno: MEN-DELU in Brno. This thesis addresses issues of tourism carrying capacity with emphasis on socio-cultural carrying capacity. It moves from chosen elementary attributes of tourism towards explanation of the concept of sustainable tourism. Crucial sec-tion of the theoretical part is dedicated to a characterisation of the concept of tourism carrying capacity, it's development, principles, definition, types and alternative concepts. The practical part is focused on Lednice-Valtice Area and it's elementary attributes from the tourism development point of view. Using the questionnaire survey it investigates opinions of local inhabitants (as one of the components of socio-cultural capacity) on selected matters of development of tourism in Lednice-Valtice Area. Results of the survey lead to comprehension of attitudes of local inhabitants towards tourism development in the area and based on these results the recommendation for destination management are identified.
