This masters thesis focuses on the evaluation of economic efficiency and risks of public investment projects. The theoretical part of the work is focused on the definition of terms and methods of economic evaluation of public investment projects and methods of assessing their risks. The practical part deals with a case study of a specific project, in which an economic evaluation of a public investment project and a risk assessment are developed.

Economic and Financial Impacts of Investment Project on Public Investor

The aim of the master‘s thesis is to evaluate the economic and financial impacts of the investment project on the public sector. It is defined the financial management of the investor – the village Ludkovice – for the assessing of the impacts. Selected project is the construction of a sports complex in Ludkovice. Outputs are determined by using eCBA application that uses method of Cost Benefit Analysis. The thesis connects together theoretical knowledge of evaluation economic indicators such as Net Present Value, Internal Rate of Return and Profitability Index and use this calculations to evaluate the overall effectiveness of investment and the possibility of financing in practice.

The aim of the thesis is measurements of embedded costs to final outputs of the project for qualified investment decisions. The theoretical part describes the topic of public sector, cost-output methods and discusses in more detail the procedure for processing and purpose and structure of the cost benefit analysis. Practical part looks on the feasibility study including analysis of costs and benefits of public sector and its alternative financing opinion by the grant program of the European union

The Bachelor thesis deals with a costs analysis of a common project including "Circus Napoleon" and "Lap of Frydecka Street". This is done on the basis of a theoretical knowledge of methods and procedures in evaluation of an investment efficiency. For this type of analysis, the SW program was designed. It is supposed to enable quick computations of crucial indexes and an explanation of their meaing in relation to the project acceptability.

This diploma thesis focuses on financing of ecological investments, let us say financing of alternative sources of energy, especially fotovoltaic eletric power stations. In one part the thesis focuses on the list of structural funds and ways of financing. The thesis offers the abstract of legislation and limitations which goes with the applicants in all periods of projects. The analysis of the background concerning the financing ecological investments in the Czech Republic is the integral part of thesis. The practical part of the thesis shows if the ecological project could be interesting and beneficial for investors. The Cost Benefit Analysis could be instrumental for finding out the relevant information.

Economic Efficiency of Public Construction Project

This bachelor's thesis deal with economic efficiency of public construction project. Information about efficiency it takes from Cost-benefit analysis. Cost-benefit analysis compares economic cash-flow and it rates project´s usefullness versus total project´s cost. In the economic cash-flow are financial cash-flow, as investment, yield and cost, and socioeconomic cash-flow. In thit part is project´s effect on the community in the formof benefits and savings. This effect we can see in a project as a unit price. For this cash-flow result indexs of ekonomic efficiency, which evaluates efficiency, or demand of grant. The one of part economic efficiency is project life cycle´s financial sustainability.

The first part of the thesis consists of theoretical evaluation on the effectiveness and risks of public investment projects – in particular it aids to explain the basic concepts the methods of evaluating the economic efficiency of investments, cost-benefit analysis of road construction projects and investment risk. The second part of the thesis consists of a case study, which is focused on sensitivity analysis and quantitative risk analysis for a specific project.

Technical and economic assessment of projects of wastewater treatment plants and their impact on the environment

The doctoral thesis deals with the issue of evaluating of technical-economic efficiency of wastewater treatment plant projects. Same as most public benefit projects, the main reason for implementation is the societal benefit of the company, not the impact on the investor. The literature review provides an overview of the most commonly used methods of environmental impact assessment, which differ in both the difficulty of processing and in the structure of input and output information. In accordance with the European legislation, the Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) is applied to a selected sample of waste water treatment plants, in its economic part, the standardly assessed societal impacts are extended by other possible benefits associated with the implementation of the project implementation. The main output of the thesis is the quantification of the increment to the societal benefit of the project, which is set to the difference between the economic net present value of the investment and the standard and individually designed socio-economic impacts. As an alternative to the traditional approach, the thesis also simulates the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), method is based on multi-criteria evaluation shows the technical efficiency of the sewage treatment plant sample and thus serves as a very effective tool in managerial decision-making.

Evaluation of Economic Efficiency and Risks of Projects of Roads in South-Moravian Region

This thesis deals with the issue of Evaluation of Economic Efficiency and Risks of Projects of Roads in South-Moravian Region. The first part of the thesis is theoretical. In the introduction defines the life cycle of an investment project. The studies and documentation of project are described. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the methodological evaluation of the effectiveness of public projects. The practical part of the thesis is aimed on the processing of economic and risk analysis. The evaluated project is the reconstruction of road and the construction of a new bridge structure on the road II/374 between the village Bílovice nad Svitavou and the town Adamov. The eCBA application was used to evaluate efficiency. A qualitative risk analysis of the project is carried out at the end of this thesis.
