Homoxenous coccidia of caudate amphibia: diversity and developmental cycles
LIŠKOVÁ, Jana
The study is focused on homoxenous coccidia of caudate amphibia. The aims include review of relevant literature information in the context of current knowledge on taxonomy, systematics and biology of coccidia in general and coprological examination of newts from two localities for a presence of coccidian oocysts in fecal samples.
Gut parasites of goats on a chosen farm
VANĚČKOVÁ, Michala
The master thesis is aimed to evaluate intestinal parasites occurrence in a goat breeding. A herd of goats chosen for this survey was kept by a private enterprise focused on milk production. The practical research was conducted during two years, 2009 and 2010. Samples of feaces were collected during that period and analyzed for parasites occurrence. The analyses proved presence of the following parasites: Trichuris ovis, parasites from the order Strongylida, Fasciola hepatica, Dicrocellium lanceatum and coccidia. Total prevalence was significant; 85% of the samples were found to be positive. Species from the order Strongylida were identified as the most often 41,46 %, which meant 199 cases from the total of 509. During the examined period, the highest prevalence of parasites was detected in summer 2009, the second highest then in spring 2010.
Dynamics of CD4+ and CD8+ lymphocytes in the intesine and mesenteric lymph nodes of suckling rabbits of various age infected with coccidia \kur{Eimeria intestinalis} a \kur{Eimeria flavescens} .
CHROMÁ, Věra
The percentage of CD4+ and CD8+ lymphocytes in suckling rabbits was investigated by use of flow cytometry. Two coccidia species were used in the experiments: highly immunogenic Eimeria intestinalis and weakly immunogenic E. flavescens. No significant changes were observed in mesenteric lymph nodes except in rabbit inoculated at 33 days of age with E. intestinalis, when the percentage of CD8+ cells was significantly enhanced compared to control animals. After infection with E. intestinalis, the percentage of both CD4+ and CD8+ cells was enhanced in the intestinal epithelium from 22 days of age onwards. In contrast, only the percentage of intraepithelial CD4+ cells was increased in the rabbits inoculated at 33 days of age after infection with E. flavescens.
