This bachelor thesis is studying the accident places (on the example of Brno city) as potential elements for traffic development. The theoretical part is devoted to the development of the traffic on general level and introduces the area of interest to the readers. Practical part of the thesis is focused on traffic accidents in Brno city. Firstly, there is a global analysis of the accident rate followed by specific problematic places and then by new traffic measures that could lead to the improvement of the current situation and the development of affected locations. Both parts have been confronted with each other in the end of the thesis.
Hodnocení rekreačního efektu u vybraných úseků řeky Svratky v Brně

This Bachelor thesis evaluates the actual state and restoration projects planned on se-lected sections of the river Svratka. The literature review describes briefly methods used to assess the modification of watercourses and their surrounding area. Several succesful projects of the restored watercourses are exemplified, both in the Czech Re-public and abroad, which may be useful for similar projects planned on the Svratka river. The practical part characterises the model locality of modificated section of river Svratka in Brno. The recreational effect of modifications is evaluated as well as corresponding public preferences using the questionnaire survey method, which fo-cused on the awareness and opinions of the population about the modifications of the watercourses carried out and recreation possibilities in near area. Based on these find-ings, measures being in conformity with the flood control and environmental protec-tion are suggested leading to preserve or to increase the recreational potential along the watercourse of selected area.
Development potential of brownfields in the South Moravian Region

The Diploma Thesis is dedicated to the evaluation of development potential of brownfields within the territory of South Moravian Region, Czech Republic. Due to the characteristic differences of the examined area is the evaluation created separately for the city of Brno itself and for the rest of the region, excluding the area of Brno. The evaluation is based on the system of prioritization which comes out from existing, updated databases of brownfields. The results represent concrete recommendations about which particular brownfields should be initially regenerated. Within the prioritization regarding the territory of the city of Brno are the brownfields evaluated also with the concern of their supposed future way of utilization. The results of the work are depicted in respective cartograms.

The main goal of this thesis is to analyse how high-skilled foreigners working in science and research in Brno perceive the quality of life in the city. The areas of quality of life that were investigated include leisure activities, traffic, street maintenance (cleaning) and safety of residents in the city, public spaces and environment, health services, education, housing and family and work life in Brno. The topic is analysed in connection with possibilities to sustain this workforce in the city of Brno, due to the significant added value brought here by foreigners highly qualified in science and research.

Bachelor thesis is concerning consumer behaviour of foreign students during leisure activities in Brno in academic year 2015. In theoretical part is processed problematic of tourism, services marketing, tourism marketing, marketing research and consumer behaviour. In main part of the thesis is defined offer of Tourist Information Centre Brno and offer of International Student Clubs which provide opportunities for foreign students during their leisure time. Via quantitative research are detected preferences and consumer behaviour of foreign students during leisure activities in Brno. Through gained data is done marketing proposal to Tourist Information Centre Brno in field of services improvement for the target group.
Architektonická studie – Veřejný prostor vybrané městské části

The main focus of this bachelor thesis is the idealized design of the public space of the selected district of Stary Lískovec and Bohunice in Brno. The first part defines the terms "public space" and "open space". It compares the different interpretations of these concepts, from the perspectivea of historical development to the present. It summarizes the knowledge gained by studying literary sources, experience and knowledge of architectural theory and practice. It characterizes selected types of public spaces, which are thematically related to the problems of the solved territory and provides reference examples of world and Czech projects. The other part contains graphically processed analyses of the solved territory in broader and narrower contexts with the accompanying comments and the formulation of the starting points resulting from the design part analyses. The practical part of the thesis contains the formulation of the main creative principles that are applied in the design. The design of the territory is divided into eight major sections. Each section has the specific function, thematic content, spatial and art-architectural design.
Užitkové rostliny v zahradní a krajinářské tvorbě

This thesis deals with useful plants and their use in garden and landscape design. In the theoretical part of this work are described ways how was possible to work with this group of plants in the history and there are also mentioned current trends and their use in the private or public greenery, demonstrated on the examples of realization from the Czech Republic and abroad. Briefly are described the specifics of useful species of plants, which affects the design, realization and maintenance of vegetation elements with their representation. The practical part of this work consists of project of gardens in Capuchin monastery in Brno. The study is based on analysis of natural conditions, historical documentation and requirements of Brno for the reconstruction and access to the object. In place of historically documented utility gardens is designed a new smaller public space with a significant number of useful plants. There were used old varieties of fruit trees and unusual species of fruit and vegetable. One terrace is dedicated to the beds of herbs.
