Proposal for the Introduction of a New Form of Management in a Selected Part of the Production Process

This thesis focuses on the management of a selected part of the production process in IMI Precision Engineering and aims to present a proposal for the introduction of a new approach to managing the production task of the given production process part using the Kanban model. The subject of the analysis is the inventory of the given production process part, which are analysed based on ABC / XYZ analysis, the conclusions of which, presented in the design part of the thesis, serve as basis for the creation of a proposal for the introduction of Kanban.

The master's thesis defines the weaknesses of the current state of inventory management and creates a proposal for the most effective management of material stock in the company, using lean production. The basic element of the thesis is the introduction of a pull system into a selected production area.

This bachelor thesis deals with the proposal of optimization of the inventory management system for one of the companies of Hella KGaAHueck & CO concern which falls under the management of Hella Autotechnik Nova, s.r.o. At the first it explains the general concepts of the issue of logistics and stock, the next part it analyzes the actual situation in the company´s stock. In the last part is the inventory from company divided into classes with the help of analysis ABC and after that analysis XYZ with different control processes that prevent the problems with the overstock.

The bachelor’s thesis deals with the issue of inventory management. Using ABC, XYZ and ABC / XYZ analysis material items will be divided into nine categories based on their characteristics such as the importance and volatility of consumption. For each category will be defined management strategies so as to obtain optimal inventory levels, while minimizing costs and ensuring trouble-free production.
