Analysis of a bar-system with elements of variable cross-section characteristics
Náprstek, Jiří ; Fischer, Cyril
The response analysis of a system consisting of bars or one-dimensional elements can be understood as a solution of a certain differential system on an oriented graph. This graph is a corresponding geometric representation of a mechanical system investigated where elements of this graph are individual bars of the system.
Compliance criteria to be proved by the analysis of a civil engineering structure
Fischer, Ondřej
Any (not only) civil engineering structure must meet two fundamental requirements: the safety and serviceability before being put into service. While the safety is in general controlled by the loading and behaviour of the structure and by the resistance of its materials, which all are strongly supported by Codes and software packages, the serviceability is often left on the account and experience of the engineer. Some reflections and examples of failures are given in what follows.
Along wind random vibrations of a slender structure - modelling by concentrated masses
Náprstek, Jiří ; Pospíšil, Stanislav
The paper presents an analytical-numerical solution to the along wind random response of slender structures to fluctuating stationary wind velocity component. The structure has been modelled using a linear system discretized by concentrated masses or by FEM, respectively.
Along wind random vibrations of a slender structure - modelling by continuous elements
Náprstek, Jiří ; Pospíšil, Stanislav
Along wind random vibration of a slender structure represents one of the most important aeroelastic effects resulting from wind - structure interaction. The theoretical model being based on one-dimensional elements with continuously distributed mass and stiffness has been introduced in this paper.
