The Family, Child and his childhood

This thesis is attempting on untraditional view on history of childhood in aristocracy through the point of view of their children. There are used various sources like memoirs, correspondence, but also childish drawings or narration of the youngest daughter of Prince Johann Schönburg-Hartenstein, Sophie Carillo. For the education of noble children, there was typical to live in history, the care of tutors and governesses, bringing up to duties, the veneration of old traditions or periodical travelling. The presentation of the Žíchovec Children´s Home (history, organization, human resources, clients). Quality of life Street children in Zambia
DAŇHELKOVÁ, Pavlína
The quality of life of so-called "street children" in Zambia is the topic of my bachelor degree work (thesis). The concept of "street children" means the children grown up on the streets. "Street children" are mostly orphans after parents who died of HIV/AIDS or who became victims of poverty. "The street children" represent a high risk group of children. They live on streets on long term basis, they sleep in abandoned houses, they make their living on begging, thefts, street services, and sale of goods of various kind. They are uneducated, they suffer from health problems. Drug addiction and prostitution is a very frequent phenomenon among these groups. The estimates report about 1.5 million children living on streets in Zambia today. Most of the children live in the capital city Lusaka (there are about 75 000 street children today). I applied both a qualitative and quantitative survey in my bachelor degree work, as well as the methods of questioning and non-standardized interviews. The basic set of the research material was collected among the street children in Lusaka. The selected set composed of 55 respondents from the group of the "street children", which I compared to the research of PhDr. Jolana Ročňová focused on the same number of children living in families. The qualitative research was implemented in a form of non-standardized interviews and by means of the secondary analysis of data obtained from the gained practical experience. Evaluation of the quality of life of so-called "street children" in Zambia, monitoring of occurrence of most frequent socially undesired phenomena and formulation the scale of the related problems (physical activities, emotional elements, social activities) as well as the school activity of the "street children" in Zambia {--} Lusaca and comparison of the collected data with the check group of children living a families {--} were the major objectives of this bachelor degree work (thesis). The following hypotheses were defined. Hypothesis no.1: the quality of life of so-called "street children" is negatively influenced by problems (health, social, emotional, school activity) specific to children living on the streets. Hypothesis no. 2: "Street children" experience life of lower quality in comparison to children living in families. According to results of the survey the hypotheses were confirmed and I suppose that the objective of the work has been achieved.
