This bachelor's thesis is dedicated to the flower planting development in Smetana park. The study includes literary overview, picture documentation capturing the development of floral plantings and the detailed flower design including the budget and the foundation of flower bed technology. The poject is situated in Smetana Park in Olomouc. There was created a layout and planting plan around the fountain and ajdacent area/pit in the middle of the park. The floral planting plan alone was to respect the historical origin of the park. From results arise how demanding are the ornamental annual plant beds in dependence for maintenance. Due to their complexity and financial cost many city parks withdraw from them and replace them with perennial plants.

The aim of the work was to evaluate the influence of different fertilization concentrations on the post-harvest lifespan of the model plants Antirrhinum majus, Matthiola incana and Zinnia elegans. Part of the work was also an evaluation of optimal post-harvest conditions and treatment of plant material using literary sources. The plants were grown from pre-grown seedlings in an open habitat. The experiment was based on 3 variants of fertilization (Polyfeed CG fertilizer) of model plants and their effect on the qualitative characteristics of the plants. In the experiment, characters such as the NDVI index, shoot weight, number of side shoots and leaves, size parameters of flowers or inflorescences, stem length, stem water consumption and post-harvest lifespan were evaluated. The effects of Polyfeed GG fertilizer concentration were compared and evaluated with each other and the appropriate fertilization variant for use on model plants was determined. Matthiola incana and Zinnia elegans showed the best quality characteristics at the basic fertilization concentration (0.5 %), while Antirrhinum majus was more demanding on fertilization and showed the best results at 1.5 % fertilization. Fertilization affected all observed aspects, the influence of fertilizer on specific elements was not clear. On the contrary, the effect of the maintenance product FLORALIFE was always most effective with the basic dose of fertilization.

The dissertation dealt with sowing annuals in the establishment of flowerbeds from direct sowing of taxon which are potentially suitable for autumn and spring sowing. In the experimental part was attempted to annuals of direct sowing. There were realized three sowings, in autumn 2013 and 2014 and in spring 2014, when were sown 26 same taxon of the seed. The aim of the experiment was evaluated the germination of seeds, height and flowering taxon, aesthetic effect of fetus, effect of taxon in the composition and suitability growing and seeding taxon. Based on all these results there were performed the comparison and evaluation and the conclusions and recommendations were defined for following experiments and practice. After evaluation all the results, interesting and perspective annuals for directautumn sowing appeared Ammi visnaga (L.) Lam., Bupleurum rotundifolium L., Clarkia pulchella Pursh. 'Mix', Consolida ambiqua (L.) P. W. Ball & Heywod. 'Hyacintokvětá', Nigella damascena L. 'Cramer s Plum', Nigella orientalis L., Papaver rhoeas L. 'Shirley Double Mixed'. There were evaluated the best and the most perspective annuals for direct spring sowing - Borago officinalis L., Bupleurum rotundifolium L., Calendula officinalis L. 'Pacific Beauty Směs', Consolida ambiqua (L.) P. W. Ball & Heywod. 'Hyacintokvětá', Cosmos bipinnatus Car. 'Sonata', Cosmos sulphureus Car. 'Redcrest', Nigella damascena L. 'Cramer s Plum'..

This thesis is focused on urban public green areas, in its narrower sense it deals with planting of flowers - annuals, perennials, and a combination of both types. It summarizes the history of urban green areas, the importance of flower planting and their location. Also the present trends in public planting of annuals or perennials are described. The practical part we described chosen cities in the Czech Republic (Brno and Ostrava) and Greece (Thessaloniki) - their geographical and climatic conditions, public green areas in the cities and the typical flower plantations. My thesis deals with species composition and assortment of ornamental annuals and biennials planted in cemeteries in the Krkonose and Kralicky Sneznik mountainous regions, in medium-elevation regions of East Bohemia and in the South Moravia lowlands. The Work also includes monitoring of the relevant species growing wild off the graves. Simultaneously, annual and biennial species of accompanying weeds have been monitored, their botanical classification has been carried out, as well, as comparison of their occurrence changes with available historical sources. Botanical research has been conducted in the total number of 130 visited cemeteries (48 in mountainous areas, 53 in medium-elevation areas and 29 in the South Moravia lowlands). 98 ornamental species and 150 weeds have been found there. Within the monitoring course, several endangered plant species according to the latest Red List of the Czech Republic Flora have been found. My work resulted in findings that there are no substantial differences in the species composition of plants grown in individual regions. Horticultural firms offer similar assortment. However, I have found differences in the accompanying weed vegetation composition. While cemeteries in South Moravia are maintained carefully, old cemeteries in the mountainous areas are often neglected and abandoned and they are penetrated by the surrounding vegetation.
