Prevention of Atherosclerosis in Women – Some Results from Outpatient Department in EuroMISE Centre
Tomečková, Marie ; Grünfeldová, H. ; Peleška, Jan ; Hanuš, P. ; Marušiaková, M.
By atherosclerosis are affected men and women too, but it is given much less attention to these diseases in women. In the outpatient department of EuroMISE Centre in Prague, more women then men were examined. Women were older, their risk profile (factors antropometric, clinical, socio-economic and laboratory) was some better then in men, but not near to optimal values. It is necessary to bring advance attention to the investigation, prevention and the treatment of risk factors of atherosclerosis in women.

Flexibilita datových modelů v aplikaci MUDRLite
Nagy, Miroslav ; Špidlen, Josef
MUDRLite application was developed within the research in the EuroMISE Centre. It connects the user interface described in XML file with data layer. The structure of data stored in the database is not fixed. It is designed to fulfil needs of the target application. The data structure is called ER-model and in a real database it is stored as a database schema. Sometimes it is necessary to slightly modify the ER-model. In the process of data model evolution a database schema synchronising tool is very useful.

Program BAYES
Heroutová, Helena
The program demonstrates Bayesian approach to the design of research studies in the health sciences. The central idea of the Bayesian method is the use of study data to update the state of knowledge about a quantity of interest. In study design, the Bayesian approach explicitly incorporates expressions for the loss resulting from an incorrect decision at the end of the study. The Bayesian method also provides a flexible framework for the monitoring of sequential clinical trials.

Využití standardů k vytvoření přenositelného elektronického zdravotního záznamu v České Republice
Ďurovec, Ján ; Hanzlíček, Petr
In recent years the usage of information systems has rapidly increased in many different areas including the area of providing healthcare services. One of them that developers of such systems face is a transfer of clinical data among various institutions and their automatic processing. We analyse the available national and European standards related to this area and propose a model of structured clinical data transfer among the information systems of healthcare providing facilities in the Czech Republic.
