Emanuel Voska: behind the politics

During the World War I, Emanuel Voska, an American Czech, businessman and functionary of immigrants associations got involved in "big politics". As an important representative of the Czech independence movement in America, he won recognition in the field of propaganda and espionage. His success was limited by the war; since he was not able to succeed in a new state - Czechoslovakia - either as an entrepreneur or a politician. The essay analysis Voska´s political assumptions and submits the reasons of his failure.
