Paper brings data on styrene hydrogenation using palladium catalyst measured using two trickle bed reactors of different dimensions. The data were applied to formulation and solution dynamic models of reactor under forced periodic feed rate modulation of reaction mixture. Adequate agreement between model solution and pilot plant adiabatic trickle bed reactor has been confirmed.
Applied Research in Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals AS CR.
Hanika, Jiří
Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals AS CR is oriented to research in the fields of chemical, biochemical, catalytic and enviromental engineering. Its educational role is focussed mainly to postgraduate training of students comming from several Czech universities. Postgraduate studium programs cover physical, organic and applied chemistry, chemical engineering, biotechnology and enviroment protection technology. Science and research teams of the Institute play also an important role in applied research problem solution.
Extraction of Drinking and Surface Water by Organic Solvent in Order to Determine Toxic Compounds Traces.
Rousková, Milena ; Tříska, Jan ; Heyberger, Aleš
Liquid-liquid extraction was used for reliable, relatively fast and inexpensive concentration of very low contents of volatile organic compounds from chlorinated water, especially supply and drinking water. Extraction column with vibrating plates was used. Drinking water was enriched by 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons at concentration level of 52.1 ng/l. Consecutively the extraction recovery of individual components was monitored.
