HTA and EBM: different names, a similar concept

The terms "Health Technology Assessment" and "Evidence-Based Medicine" are increasingly mentioned in various contexts recently. Projects in this area in terms of content and methodology often overlap, other time diverge. This work deals with the analysis of the motivation and objectives of processes, which stand in the background of the above mentioned concepts. In deeper analysis of their historical development and present interpretation one can trace not only common elements, but also the mutual complementarity.
Implementation of medical guidelines in an electronic form

Medical guidelines are an important tool for clinical decision-making not only for physicians, but also on a wider scale tool for increasing the efficiency of medical care. Currently, there are tools for creating electronic forms of medical guidelines and their use in clinical practice but their expansion is hampered by the absence of a concept for their collective use and by limited use of electronic health record.

The paper discusses various methods of prevention of cardiovascular diseases, which are the leading cause of death and leading cause of morbidity and disability of the whole population. The question in the title cannot be clearly answered. Methods of prevention are known, the positive impact of well carried out prevention is also unknown from a series of studies. However, the results of prevention in practice are not satisfactory.
Evaluation of the medical web sites quality in the MedIEQ project

Evaluation of the quality of medical information on the website is an activity of a number of rating agencies, typically connected with the national and international medical associations. One of the projects dealing with this problem is the MedIEQ project.
Options of HTA application to electronic medical records in cardiology
