Čím je film mladší, tím více citát užívá mladší generace. Abstrakt V diplomové práci "Filmové citáty jako součásti české frazeologie" se zabýváme filmovými citáty, které se objevují již nejen ve filmech, ale používají se v běžné každodenní komunikaci. Cílem celé práce je zkoumat, jakou roli hrají filmové hlášky, a zda je jejich popularita používání ovlivněna věkem. V teoretické části této práci se zaměřujeme na vymezení filmových citátů z různých hledisek: z pohledu memetiky, frazeologie a lingvokulturologie. Formou dotazníkového šetření se zjišťuje, v kterých situacích mluvčí tyto citáty používají a jaký je rozdíl v používání hlášek pocházejících z novějších a starších filmů. Z výzkumu vyplývá, že hypotéza této práce je částečně potvrzena, to znamená, že věk ovlivňuje popularitu používání hlášek, ale neovlivňuje známost filmových hlášek. Changes in Taiwan-Czech Relations

This thesis aims to shed light on how the evolving Czech-Taiwanese relationship has been reflected in Taiwan. The research encompasses a diverse range of data sources, including governmental foreign affairs annual reports, government-funded scholarships, trade and investment flows, media coverage from selected Taiwanese news outlets, and individual movements between the Czech Republic and Taiwan. With qualitative content analysis and descriptive analysis, the study endeavors to provide conclusive answers to the research question. Given the consideration of the unavailability of research on recent developments in Czech Republic- Taiwan relations, as well as the bilateral relationship itself, this study is poised to identify and evaluate any significant changes in their ties. The research will focus on examining how these changes in bilateral relations have been manifested and perceived in Taiwan. The temporal scope of the thesis spans from 2013 to 2023, encompassing a decade of crucial developments in the Czech-Taiwanese relationship.

Comparative Analysis of Transformational Leadership: Václav Havel and Lee Teng-hui

In recent years, the relationship between the Czech Republic and Taiwan has been getting closer. The two seemingly distant country however went through similar development at the end of 20th century - democratization. During the process, there are two significant champions of democracy: former president Vaclav Havel and Lee Teng-hui. This thesis will have two main objectives: first, to provide an overview of the lives of Havel and Lee Teng-hui; second, to conduct a comparative analysis of both using the transformational leadership theory to explore whether they align with Bass's definition of a transformational leader.

Naked exclusion with heterogeneous buyers

We investigate the effects of buyer heterogeneity in a market in which an incumbent firm prevents entry when it signs enough exclusionary contracts with buyers. With heterogeneous buyers several well-known results in exclusionary contracting with homogenous buyers are overturned and novel ones emerge. First, inefficient equilibria exist in which exclusionary contracts are signed but entry still occurs, and the loss of consumer surplus falls on small buyers. Second, sequential contracting may be more pro-competitive than simultaneous contracting in the sense that entry occurs under sequential but not simultaneous contracting. When this happens, sequential Pareto dominates simultaneous contracting.

Three Essays on Data-Driven Methods in Asset Pricing and Forecasting

Tato disertační práce se skládá ze tří článků zaměřených na aplikace metod založených na datech v oblasti prognózování a oceňování aktiv. V první práci rozkládáme časovou strukturu cen futures na ropných trzích pomocí dynamického Nelson-Siegelova modelu a navrhujeme jejich předpověď pomocí zobecněného regresního modelu založeného na neuronových sítích. Zjistili jsme, že neuronové sítě poskytují výrazně přesnější prognózy ve srovnání s několika referenčními modely. Druhý článek ukazuje, jak může model časově proměnlivých koeficientů pomoci zkoumat dynamiku vztahu mezi rizikem a výnosem na trhu státních dluhopisů napříč celou časovou strukturou. Náš rozsáhlý dvanáctiletý soubor vysokofrekvenčních dat o cenách amerických a německých státních dluhopisů s dvouletou, pětiletou, desetiletou a třicetiletou dobou splatnosti nám umožňuje konstruovat realizované metriky rizika a také zkoumat vztah rizika a výnosu za různých tržních podmínek. Kromě realizované volatility jsme zjistili, že realizovaná kurtóza je zohledněna v cenách dluhopisů. Důležité je, že zjišťujeme, že rizikový faktor zachycený realizovanou kurtózou má pozitivní vliv na výnosy v období krize a v klidných obdobích se mění na záporné hodnoty. Role Change after Brexit? A Comparative Case Study of the United Kingdom in the 2014 and 2022 Ukraine Crises

Since British former Prime Minister David Cameron promised to throw a referendum on Britain's EU membership in January 2013, how the United Kingdom (UK) would position itself in the UK-European Union (EU) relations and in world politics has been debated among scholars of International Relations (IR) and commentators. The surprising outcome of Brexit referendum on 23 June 2016 marked an unprecedented event when the country voted to leave the EU by 51.9% to 48.1%. Despite a narrow victory of the Leave side, the result was perceived as the climax of right-wing populist trend (Koller, Kopf, and Miglbauer 2019). After months of negotiations and a couple of changes in leadership, the UK finally concluded a Withdrawal Agreement with the EU on 17 October 2019, followed by a EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement signed on 30 December 2020. Despite the conclusion of bilateral agreements, the two parties did not put forward any future arrangement concerning the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) or the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP). Besides, tcachcrs' opinions on reflection as well as conditions that may influence reflection arc examined. For this purpose, a small-scalc questionnaire-based study is earned out with tcachcrs in mainstream and spécial schools. Sequential vote buying

To enact a policy, a leader needs votes from committee members with heterogeneous opposition intensities. She sequentially offers transfers in exchange for votes. The transfers are either promises paid only if the policy passes or paid up front. With transfer promises, a vote costs nearly zero. With up-front payments, a vote can cost significantly more than zero, but the leader is better off with up-front payments. The leader does not necessarily buy the votes of those least opposed. The opposition structure most challenging to the leader involves either a homogeneous committee or a committee with two homogenous groups. Our results provide an explanation for several empirical regularities: lobbying of strongly opposed legislators, the Tullock Paradox and expansion of the whip system in the U.S. House concurrent with ideological homogenization of parties.
