Target genes and regulation of hypoxia inducible factors HIF1a a HIF2a
Blahová, Tereza ; Žurmanová, Jitka (advisor) ; Alánová, Petra (referee)
Oxygen supply is necessary for today's form of life on Earth. Molecular oxygen is a terminal electron acceptor in mitochondrial respiratory chain and enables the efficient production of ATP by oxidative phosphorylation. The lack of availability of oxygen decreases energy production and can endanger the processes maintaining homeostasis. Therefore the compensatory mechanisms were developed by which cells respond to hypoxia. The master regulator of cellular responses is the hypoxia inducible transcription factor, HIF. In general HIF-1 isoform supports glucose availability and glycolysis; also attenuates energy-consuming processes and thus reduces energy loss. HIF-2 isoform stimulates antioxidant mechanisms to reduce the amount of reactive oxygen species which could cause cellular damage. At the same time, both of isoforms contribute to increasing the supply of oxygen by activating erythropoiesis and angiogenesis in the affected area. HIFs provide these changes either directly, by using their target genes, or by interactions with other transcription factors and signaling pathways.

The coincidence as a principle
Bláhová, Tereza ; Rakušanová, Marie (advisor) ; Bydžovská, Lenka (referee)
Náhoda jako princip Chance as a Principle ANOTATION The thesis has a focus in questions of chance in the art of 20. century. The crux of the problem concentrate on artists: Jackson Pollock, John Cage, Merce Cunningham and James Joyce. The opening chapter surveys the use of the chance in etymology, science and organic processes of the nature, watches the chance as an inspiration in a game and artistic production. In the second chapter the chance is typologicly defined from spontaneity as a expression of freedom abstract expressionism by Wassily Kandinsky and free atonality by Arnold Schönberg all the way to the kind of chance as a struggle against conventions and to chance as a spring of imagination in authomatic writing and drawing or psychical automatism in surrealism. The main chapter focuses on the key authors of the top phases of spontaneity connected with the action painting (Jackson Pollock), aleatoric music (John Cage), experimental dance (Merce Cunningham) and similar accidental processes in literature (James Joyce) - in exception of Joyce. The selection of representants of the world - mainly American art was caused by tight cohesion of their artistic display. Keywords: chance - spontaneity - gesture - organic - consciousness

Gene expression of enzymes involved in the regulation of apoptosis in rat moycardium - effect of chronic and acute hypoxia
Blahová, Tereza ; Žurmanová, Jitka (advisor) ; Kalous, Martin (referee)
Adaptation to chronic hypoxia provides myocardial protection against ischemia - reperfusion injury (IR). Cardioprotective effect of adaptation depends on the degree and duration of hypoxic exposure and daily regime of adaptation. Certain protective regimes of adaptations to hypoxia have been reported to activate proapoptotic signaling pathways and bioactive sphingolipids were recently shown to play important role in the regulation of apoptosis in the heart. We aimed to determine the mRNA level of selected genes related to apoptotic pathways and to sphingolipid metabolism in two models of hypoxic adaptation, continous normobaric hypoxia (CNH 10% O2) with different exposures (4h, 48h, 120h, 21days) and intermitent hypobaric hypoxia (IHH 7000 m, 8h/day). Both ventricles, LV and RV, were analysed after adaptation to CNH and only LV was analysed after IHH adaptation. Our results show that both types of adaptation increased mRNA of proapoptotic genes, CNH mainly in RV and IHH in LV. Furthermore, increased expressions of proapoptotic genes were accompanied by the increase of expression of enzymes producing predominantly protective kinds of sphingolipids. The exact role of apoptosis and sphingolipid signaling molecules in endogenous myocardial protection requires further research. Key words: Apoptosis,...

Export strategy of the Czech Republic 2012–2020 (focusing on India)
Bláhová, Tereza ; Sato, Alexej (advisor) ; Hinčica, Vít (referee)
In order to eliminate dependence on European markets and diversify Czech exports, the Export strategy of the Czech Republic 2012-2020 identified 12 priority countries and one of them was India. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to define the potential of India for Czech exporters by evaluating the effectiveness of the Export strategy of the Czech Republic for period 2012-2020. This thesis deals with Czech pro-export policy, trade between the Czech Republic and India and evaluates opportunities and threats for Czech exporters who trades with India.

Factors influencing resocialization of persons released from prison
Bláhová, Tereza ; Poláčková, Jana (advisor) ; Nováková, Ivana (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused to issue of resocialization of persons after imprisonment and factors that may influence the resocialization. The whole resocialization proces is not only in prison, where it should be most intense, but the process should continue after release from prison. In theoretical part the issue is described based on available literature. The empirical part is focused to find out the most important factors, which may affect the success of resocialization from the perspective of persons after imprisonment. The Research was carried out by using questionnaires.Eight hypotheses were defined. These hypotheses were evaluated and supplemented by research findings. All research findings are discussed in the discussion. Key words: resocialization, penitentiary care, postpenitentiary care, imprisonment, factors

The world of Arlt's tales
Bláhová, Tereza ; Housková, Anna (advisor) ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (referee)
The main focus of this thesis is the interpretation of the view of the world in two of the short stories of Argentinean writer Roberto Arlt. The thesis is based on essay of the foundation, evolution and theory of short story. Both the global point of view and the perspectives of Hispano-American authors Horacio Quiroga, Julio Cortázar and Jorge Luis Borges are considered. In addition, this work describes Argentinean society at the turn of the 19th into the 20th century, the society being the main period of Arlt's pieces. The context of the literature in Buenos Aires in the 1920s and 1930s is also described to introduce the writer's position among his contemporaries. A brief introduction of Roberto Arlt's biography and writings is included as background. All of these factors are addressed in the analysis of the short stories "The Little Hunchback" and "Ester Primavera." The analysis is targeted at the style and method used to create the short stories and about the acts and life situations of its characters. Arlt's integration of lower social class and colloquial language in literature, his interest in the individual existence, and the gradual elimination of the boundary between reality and fiction, inspired many writers of the following generation.
