Toll systems technology comparision
Votinský, Ondřej ; Zewdie, Retta (advisor) ; Růžička, Miroslav (referee)
Abstract The main aim of submitted bachelor thesis is to review and compare technological and economical perspectives of toll systems in the Czech Republic and European Union. First chapter is dedicated to electronic charging of transport infrastructure and arguments for its implementation. Subsequently, I describe toll systems used in Europe and their interoperability. Next chapter is devoted to toll system used in the Czech Republic. Here, I describe the technological and economical characteristics and discuss further development of Czech toll system. In the last chapter I compare toll systems technologies and discuss their advantages and disadvantages.
The effect of intelligent transport systems to increase the safety of inhabitants of villages (Libkov, Rozvadov, Kašperské Hory)
Sedlák, František ; Kocmánková Menšíková, Lucie (advisor) ; Zewdie, Retta (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to determine how Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) affects road safety and thereby contributes to increase the safety and quality of life in selected villages (Libkov, Rozvadov, Kašperské Hory) of Pilsen region. The theoretical part contains basic concepts of regional development and policy with a focus on road traffic, quality of life and safety of the population, and also description of devices which can be used as means to calm traffic and improve the safety of the population. Empirical part was done by developing a secondary analysis of data on accidents in road traffic and the impact of ITS on the safety of residents in selected villages. Secondary data analysis of the ITS revealed, that the main causes of drivers accidents in the Czech Republic (from 2014) are considered to be bad driving (62.9%) and speeding (17.5%). Libkov, Rozvadov and Kašperské Hory belong to project "Peaceful Border Areas", which aims to reduce speed on municipal roads and thus increase the safety of population in the villages using installed SYDO Traffic Zeus speed indicators. Thanks to the evaluation of these ITS has been found that in selected villages vehicles slowed down on average by 38.6%, leading to increased road safety and improved quality of life in Libkov, Rozvadov and Kašperské Hory villages.
Reduction proposal of city buses traffic accidents in Prague Integrated Transport
Pokorný, Richard ; Zewdie, Retta (advisor) ; Lachnit, František (referee)
Traffic accident rate has strong influence on traffic on roads. Every traffic accident causes deceleration of traffic, material damage or even threat to life of the drivers or passengers. Due to these reasons, traffic accidents are being monitored and evaluated. The statistics are recorded not only by the Police of the Czech Republic, but as well processed by private subjects to increase efficiency of their business. In this thesis, I have focused on the issue of bus accident rate of city public transport in Prague. I have carried out analysis, which led to detection of problematic locations in traffic in Prague. Based on determination of causes of particular traffic accidents in those problematic locations, I have suggested solutions, which will result in decrease in number of traffic accidents of buses in public transport. Finally, I recommend factual options of arrangement of those concrete locations for the particular bus carrier company.
Heating, ventilation and air conditioning of the trams
Meluš, Ladislav ; Kic, Pavel (advisor) ; Zewdie, Retta (referee)
The thesis deals with the concepts of trams which are used for public transport in Prague and especially about solution of the ventilation system, heating and air conditioning. Here are described the most used principles of ventilation in the cab and in the passenger saloon. In the individual chapters, there are materials for design of air condition consequent from the standards and recommendations of the producers themselves. Air conditioning unit HVAC (Heating, ventilating and air conditioning) for the saloon passengers, including trams 15T cooling circuit is designed from these data. The unit is designed to fallen power required compared to the present. This is possible by the reversibility of the cooling circulation, which operates as a heat pump in the winter. In conclusion of thesis is stated measurements on existing air conditioning 15T. Measurements should verify that the unit has the necessary cooling performance. Design of HVAC unit and measurements are universal for any modern low-floor tram.
Vehicle sensoric systems
Altal, Rami ; Kovanda, Jan (advisor) ; Zewdie, Retta (referee)
The objective of the thesis is to analyze modern sensoric systems and assistance systems of active vehicle safety. In the beginning of the thesis it describes the working principles of individual sensors, their structures and their potential for driver assistance systems and in the following chapter it describes in detail some of the selected modern assistance systems. The final chapter describes the experiment, a simulation of adaptive cruise control function using the Lego Mindstorms NXT programmable robotics kit.
A survey of the toll efficiency of category II. and III. roads in the Czech Republic
Mlejnský, Petr ; Zewdie, Retta (advisor) ; Dvořák, František (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to make an analysis of the tolling system of Czech republic. The analysis was approached via data collection, based on this analysis recommendation on implementing tolling system on II. and eventually in limited scope on III. class road was proposed. In this proposal economical, ecological aspects and aspects of safety were taken into account. The theory section is devoted to road-pricing in general and it is also orientated on electronic tolling system. In the section of practical applications of theory the analysis of existing tolling system of Czech republic and selected countries of EU was taken. Through all identified information the possible benefits and risks of tolling system expansion on lower class roads were detected. As well as there was assessment of overall efficiency from a fiscal and regulatory point of view. In conclusion there were set out alternative possibilities and approaches.
