ZEZULOVÁ, Martina
The subject of this diploma thesis is complex logistical support of civil protection in chosen communities. The utmost importance of civil protection is obvious in light of recent crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic, flat in western Germany, or a tornado in South Moravia. This thesis is focused on the logistic system which was designed to reduce the negative impact of emergencies. The thesis aimed to describe the logistic of citizen protection in Brno and chosen municipalities in the Brno-venkov district. Part of this work was to evaluate the sufficiency of logistical support given the latest emergencies and those that can come in the future. The research is based on two surveys. The first questioner was designed for crisis managers of individual city districts and all municipalities with extended powers in the Brno-venkov district. The second questionnaire focused on the knowledge of the general public regarding self-protection in emergencies and crises. This study shows that logistical support of civil defense differs in individual municipalities and city districts. The collected data emphasize differences in civil protection powers between municipalities with extended powers and city districts. Data also shows various experiences of individual crisis managers. That said this study illustrates an efficient system of civil protection logistical support adjusted to the local needs. Results of the survey for the general public shows crisis awareness has increased during the Covid-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, according to the majority of respondents and results of the questionnaire, the public's general knowledge about this subject is insufficient. This thesis could serve to crisis management authorities as a comparison of logistical support of the civil defense in chosen municipalities with extended powers and city districts. In the meantime, this thesis could be used in educational institutions as a foundation for raising awareness about safety measures during emergencies.
