Practice of professional puppet theatre from the late 18th century to 1949
Vyšohlídová, Jana ; Svobodová, Doubravka (advisor) ; Dvořák, Jan (referee)
This thesis explores the subject of operating professional puppet theater. Geographically, it covers only the territory of Bohemia. Time work is limited to a historical period, and from the time when the Czech professional puppet business in our country had developed, until the time when it - due to various circumstances - almost entirely disappeared for decades. The thesis describes the necessary bureaucratic steps that a tradesman had to take in order to obtain a license to allow him to play nomadic puppet theater. It deals with laws and regulations that govern its operation. It outlines the practical operation of puppeteer´s business, his fundus, propagation methods and the costs and revenues associated with the operation. It affects the art theater and stage design only marginally.
