Regelation of patterned ground in the High Tatras.
Pechačová, Blanka ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Voják, Karel (referee)
Regelation (freeze-thaw cycles) is the collective term used for a process of alternate freezing and thawing of water and solutions into the soil or bedrock. The series of geomorphological and pedological processes such as migration of soil water, formation of segregated ice or frost heaving, is connected with regelation. Condition of freezing-thawing process is a phase transition of water that leads to an important phenomenon - a release or consumption of latent heat. This phenomenon can be observed from the data obtained by measuring the temperature in the soil profile. In the present bachelor thesis, here are investigated sites of sorted patterned ground (Hincovo pleso, Lučné sedlo) and earth hummocks (Kopské sedlo) in the High Tatras for the purposes of the study regelation process. In addition to detailed description of the physical-geomorphological processes associated with phase changes of water in patterned groud, the main aim of the thesis is to set regelation cycles and their characteristics using different methods for determination of regelation on the basis of temperature measurements in patterned groug of the foregoing locations. The results indicate differences in regelation in the individual shapes within the locations, among the sites, but also between different types of patterned groud -...
Barriers to the Development of Wind Energy Use in the Czech Republic
Lukeš, Petr ; Sládek, Ivan (advisor) ; Voják, Karel (referee)
The development of the wind energy exploitation is a sum of processes which are subject to variety of heterogeneous factors. The nature and the leverage power of those factors vary and develop over time. Each regional or national location can be characterized by variety of factors, which are specific for respective locations. The wind energy development in the Czech Republic is influenced by number of barriers which restrain or slow down further progress. These barriers stem from environmental, economical, social and institutional disposition/nature of respective technologies. This thesis at first, based on available qualitative and quantitative data, describes and analyzes the situation and development of the wind energy exploitation. Specifics of the wind energy are placed in the context of selected European countries where factors and barriers influencing the development is described. The theme is regarded with spatio-temporal distribution of a "new technology". The thesis goes on focusing on identification of barriers that have impact on the wind energy development in the Czech Republic. Those restrictions/barriers are subsequently confronted with stands and perception of specific stakeholders, which are involved in the process. Analyses are carried out not only on individual barriers but also...
Evaluation of earth surface forms as factor influencing wind conditions
Šůstková, Anna ; Sládek, Ivan (advisor) ; Voják, Karel (referee)
Evalution of earth surfaře forms as factor influencing wind conditions is name the works, which was process. The main aim of this works is evaluate conditions on area o Zlín region. The work is separate into several chapters. Former of the four chapters are formel basid information about wind energy. Next chapters are formel one'n own calculation and information about programme WAsP. Reliéf is evaluate to help with programme WAsP. This programme was develop for need wind energy. This programme contain model for roughness, orography ans shelter. Map of average wind speed in high 100 meters above lan dis result of this works.
