Vencovský, Lukáš ; ZELENKA, Milan (advisor) ; RAK, Štěpán (referee)
The main theme of this thesis is the personality of a composer of Czech descent, Václav Tomáš Matějka. This paper tells us about places where he spent his lifetime and what kind of music he wrote and why. It concerns oneself with his production mainly for guitar. Furthermore it deals with the evolution of guitar as musical instrument during the lifetime of Václav Matějka. It reminds the newly transformed idea of the instrument and the change from five-course baroque guitar to six-string romantic guitar. It mentions different dead-end lines of this evolutional process through the second half of the 18th century. In the third part, there are shown some of the advantages of romantic guitar compared to modern instrument there. Then it deals with analysis of Variationes on the theme by Haydn, which Matějka wrote.
